    Ok.. I get it.

So, obviously the HC isn't responsible for doing anything. It's the coordinators fault, the players fault, or the FOs fault. In this case, the Steelers should let all coaches go because they don't do anything.

Here I thought Walsh, Noll, Shula and Parcells were good coaches. I had no idea that they weren't responsible for any success or failure...... just like Tomlin.

If I'm the OC there is no way Redman starts.. and no way he returns after his pitiful performance.

There is something to be said for a strong organization...

Why wasn't Parcells any good in Dallas?

Why was George Seifert able to win a SB in SF right after Walsh leaves, but doesn't do squat in Carolina?

How does Noll win in the 70s but lose so badly in the 80s?

        Coaching is only one factor...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

No, the OC doesn't do any of that, but he does put them in the position to succeed or fail.

Umm... look at some of our recent moves. We released good players and kept some bad ones IMO.

I agree 100%.. that's part of the problem with why we are losing. That's sort of besides the point though. The guys we let go are still in the league though...getting paid..

with starks being the exception of course. I wouldn't rule out us picking him up in the next few days though.

I'm so over it.... Ben as well. He performed terribly.
I also find it weird on how quickly Steeler fans write off the 316 yards thrown by that guy who is currently out of the league because he is not an NFL quarterback. Tomlin should have been fired after the Denver debacle.

Same could be said for Tomlin and Switzer. They inherited teams ready to win. It's not like any of these guys ever built a winner. The just were handed the keys and told to drive straight.

Exactly..... I will say this..... This team doesn't suck from lack of talent. They suck because of mistakes, poor execution and poor coaching. That is what frustrates me more than anything. This team has the talent that SHOULD be able to compete with the top tier teams. Instead, this team executes so poorly that they lose to the bottom of the barrel teams. When that starts becoming a trend (it has), ownership will start putting people on the hot seat and that begins with the HC... like it or not.

you know we'll probably come out and light up cincy next week. the thing is we always seem to play at about the level of the competition. today's performance just tells me TN is really bad.

Because of the Rooney Rule Tomlin isn't going anywhere. Even if he did we would just hire another worthless minority to make the Rooney's feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The days of hiring the best qualified candidate are over until the Rooney's die off and/or lose control.
