So the Lacy homers have to get off their soap boxes and calm down a little.

if you saw the game, then there is no way you can say you werent impressed.

and thats no knock on bell who i thought looked good (or better then we've seen recently) up until he got hurt

Are you sure Lacy was in the game against all backups? Seems to me that Rodgers was still in the game as well. I'm sure he wasn't still playing against all backups.

So Lacy had 5 carries for 40 yards... "Hardly All World" as you call it.

Bell 4 carries for 9 yards .... and his second injury in basically a 1 week span.

Based on these stats alone, if Lacy wasn't "All World" then what would that make Bell?

If Bell had the same stats as Lacy, the Bell homers would be saying he's a future HOFer. It's Steelers homerism at it's finest. Just because some of our rookies are performing well, there are 31 other teams ya know? And some of those might be performing at a higher level than ours.

Basing an opinion on one preseason game is short sighted at best.

I wasn't a big fan of the Bell pick....I have my own reasons. I was concerned about the injuries through camp. This injury doesn't cement anything one way or the other. He hasn't proved himself on the field...Nor has he disproved my concerns. It will be a "wait & see" approach until he can get on the field. Just very unfortunate he suffered the injury.

That's all we can..... because Bell will be on the sidelines for the majority the year.

Then maybe we could wait on judging a situation with little to no information?

when the Steelers stated Lacy's injuries were a concern it opened the door for this argument.

No one is saying Lacy is a HOF... but at least people are getting a chance to see him run.

970 ESPN just reported that Tomlin said that Indeed Bell has the lesser "Stable " sprain, and NOT a tear. He will be out anywhere from 5 weeks, til 8 weeks at the latest. That means he could play after getting back from England against the Jets. But will definitely be 100 % ready for the Ravens game.

What's the fun in that? Didn't like the pick to begin with and still don't like it.

I remember when the pick was made there were A LOT of people on here that disliked the pick (to say the least). There was a long thread about it. Then, out of nowhere, everybody seemed to change their tune about the pick. I wonder why? Was it the homerism..... He's now a Steeler so he must be great?!?

That according to what Tomlin said. Which he got from the Doctors.

Good. Until then, it'll be the "Next man up" approach because the "standard is the standard" and when Bell returns, he will "unleash hell" on the Ravens.
