I thought he was gonna get away with the mass. charges.

Kind of unfair in that under mass. law they arent required to prove he pulled the trigger. I think he did it, I think he was going to get nailed for the other double murder, but that part of the law seems really quite odd

You have to wonder if it was the Steelers and Ben who were using underinflated balls, would there be much more swift action?

It will be interesting to see if the cheater's fumble rate goes up now that they'll have to be using properly inflated balls. Or maybe they'll just find some other way to cheat...

Nothing unusual about the Mass. law at all. If two or more people form a joint enterprise to commit murder, all members of the enterprise are guilty regardless of who pulled the trigger. It's similar to the "felony murder" rule. If three guys are robbing a bank and one of them shoots and kills a teller, guard, bystander, whoever, all three are guilty of the murder as well as the robbery.

That was also the case in the Sean Taylor murder, when the last of those defendents pleaded guilty maybe a week or so ago. All of those guys were robbing his house, not expecting him to be home at the time, but when Taylor ultimately confronted them, one guy shot him in the leg and he died, and the penalties for all of the defendents were much, much greater than what one might get for just burglary.
