What to do with 5 mill?

Steelers in a few days will get $5 million dollars to spend towards any FA or this years draft class.

I would guess a good 2 million will count towards signing our draft class...So my question is what to do with the rest
    of the cash?

What decent FA(s) are out there that can make an impact?

Other question, Nfl Network says we plan to get a WR whom I forgot his name. Help!

Keep an eye out on the Steelers signing Steve Breaston, I would use that money to give Sanders a reasonable extension.
ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply...

Sign Flippy to a cap friendly deal. That's what I'd do.

I may be wrong, but I believe that unused cap money can be rolled over to the next season.

I think signing a veteran offensive lineman - perhaps Caldwell, who visited before - who can backup at C and OG would be a wise move. Since the Steelers forfeited a third round pick to keep Sanders, I would like to see him retained, but not at an exhorbitant cost. If he would take a reasonable deal, commensurate with his ability as a low level #2 or decent #3, then retain him. Otherwise - no thanks.

Rite on, def sign Sanders for something reasonable before he turns into a POS, (a'la Wallace)...Had enuff malcontents last season. No need for any half arsed playing and distraction.. and indeed, get a veteran lineman..

Don't get me wrong...I like Steve Breaston...

But, why? A one year deal to be the 3/4 WR?

Brown, Sanders, Wheaton, Cotchery...do they think he'll beat out Cotchery? Is the plan to phase Wheaton in slowly? If they sign Breaston, do they cut Cotchery outright?

I can understand going after Breaston if you decided not to match the offer for Sanders...but, now?
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

I liked Breaston when he was the third receiver behind Fitz and Boldin. I haven't paid much attention since, but if you do go after him then I think that it signals the end for Cotch.

                    Or the end for Plax..

Breaston is someone that Haley had both in Az and KC. He performed "solid" under Haley both times (but struggled in 2012-2013 without Haley). Gives the kid a chance to get back home, too...

I think that Plax holds his future in his own hands. If he shows that he can still do what he does best then nobody else on the roster can replace that. Plax has to be that big guy who can stake out his piece of real estate and be the only person who can get to a properly thrown ball regardless of coverage.

Both Breaston and Cotch are aiming to be that reliable third down option "possession" type receiver. Reliable hands that can get you that key first down at any spot on the field when number one and number two are covered.

I predict the Steelers will re-sign Doug Legursky to provide some much-needed OL depth, especially at OC. if Pouncey gets hurt, do you really want to see Beachum or Malecki starting at center?

we said that about Legs just a few years back... Honestly, while I expected Breaston, if I'm the team, I hold on to the remaining $$... until an injury shows up and thins out the roster at some position.

Signing Legs would be a good move. I also liked the idea of throwing a party with it.

Try to get Cortez Allen at a good rate for a 5 year deal before he breaks out. Otherwise, extend Pouncey now while he's had some subpar play. He'll be fine, and I don't want to even think about Sean Mahan projects.
