About what? A guy more suited to the ILB in a 3-4? A guy with a serious medical condition? A guy that just ran a 4.85 in the 40?

A guy more like Bruce Irvin than Von Miller?

No thank you on Jarvis Jones in the first. I would take him in the 2nd round.

I actually considered giving the Jets Cordarelle Patterson or Tavon Austin instead of Mingo.

As for Jarvis Jones, my only concern is his age (he'll turn 24 during his rookie season, and the Steelers typically prefer to draft 20 year olds with premium picks...the Steelers may actually prefer someone like Damontre Moore, who is 20 now and will turn 21 during his rookie year). In my mind, Jones laid the USC stenosis concerns to rest with his performance during his years at UGa, and the underwear Olympic numbers are substantially less important to me than his numbers on the actual football field, which have been dominant.

It seems that everyone has Werner falling hard. He was generally considered a top 5 guy up until about a month ago, and now I keep seeing him fall way past us. There just seems to be an abundance of outside rushers and many think that Werner takes the fall.

I like Jarvis' highlights, but I'm not sure the Steelers would draft him because of his age. I'd be excited if we got him.

I almost think the Steelers would be open to trading down if the draft played out this way. Or trying to draft up 2 spots to get Ansah. But I think he's old too. I think Casey Hampton was 23 when we drafted him. But that was in the Cowher era. I think Cowher was ok with a 22 or 23 year old. Tomlin not so much.

I've heard a lot of commentators say he did well against lesser talent but not so well against better competition. I didn't watch any of his games so I can't confirm.

I would take Margus Hunt, the Eastern Bloc, if we had need for a DE though.

Forced out of last month's NFL Scouting Combine with an apparent spinal injury, former Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones is looking to dazzle scouts over the next few weeks throughout individual workouts.

Despite running the 40-yard dash in a pedestrian 4.85 seconds at Thursday's Bulldogs Pro Day, Jones still believes he's the top player in April's NFL Draft. Several teams in the top 5 are reportedly interested in the two-time All-American. Jones (6-3, 241 pounds) has meetings scheduled with the Chiefs, Eagles and Lions, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

In 2009 while at USC, Jones was diagnosed with spinal stenosis -- a degenerative condition that can put pressure on the spinal cord and the nerves that travel through the spine, according to the Mayo Clinic. Jones subsequently transferred after doctors would not allow him to return to the field. In response, Jones sought a second opinion from spinal specialists and was cleared by team doctors at Georgia.

Jones received promising news earlier this month when a prominent orthopedist concluded that he never suffered from spinal stenosis while with the Trojans. Dr. Craig Brigham, an orthopedic surgeon at the OrthoCarolina Spine Center in Charlotte, told National Football Post earlier this month that Jones "had a very mild incident of spinal cord concussion or merely a stinger that has long since resolved."

In two seasons at Georgia, Jones recorded 28 sacks and 45.5 tackles-for-loss. Jones could be coveted by the Chiefs and Lions after both teams lost pass rushers in free agency. Former Chiefs defensive end Glenn Dorsey signed a multi-year deal with the 49ers, while former Lions defensive end Cliff Avril agreed to terms on a two-year deal with the Seahawks. In Philadelphia, Jones could team with newly-signed rusher Connor Barwin.

Jones also reportedly met with the Bears, Browns, Cowboys, Jaguars and Rams at the combine.

"Anybody who steps on that field has a chance of getting hurt. If you think about it like that, nobody would ever play football,� Jones told CBSSports.com's Rob Rang. �I know that I've got to be careful about my technique and how I play this game. Therefore, I do the extra stuff to protect my neck, to protect my shoulders."

The condition is not rare. Former Chargers offensive tackle Marcus McNeill slipped to the second round in the 2006 NFL Draft amid concerns about his neck. Last August, McNeill retired at 28 in part because of the injury.

In 2010, Rob Gronkowski reportedly received a similar diagnosis at the Combine, according to Yahoo Sports, an evaluation that was disputed by his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Gronkowski, a former tight end at Arizona, missed the 2009 season with a back injury.

He dominated against slow footed tackles in the SEC. Take a look at his Florida and Missouri games this year. Now go take a look at his game against Texas A&M. He was stoned constantly in this game.

I would consider him in the 2nd round as a 3-4 ILB. I think he could dominate in that role.

I'd still be surprised if he fell to us but this is one of those years where someone really good could fall to us. Do you think the Steelers would pass up Chance Warmack or the tackle to Oklahoma if they were to fall to us?

I don't think we're taking a guard at 1/17 after re-signing Foster. It'll be WR/Safety/Corner/Tackle.

We don't pass up Johnson if he's there.

This has to be the first time I have heard a prospect be put down because of the lousy competition in the miserable SEC.

Texas A&M has Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews as their bookend tackles. Joeckel is expected to be the #1 overall pick this year with Matthews likely to come off the board early in the first round next year (not #1, though, because Clowney will be coming out next year).

Putting down Jones because he wasn't able to sack the QB against Joeckel would be like putting down Lawrence Taylor because he didn't get a sack against Anthony Munoz.

The best pass rushers in football typically average about a sack a game in their best seasons (for example, the high water mark for James Harrison was 16 sacks in 15 games in 2008...1.067 sacks per game for Deebo in his best year). Jones had 14.5 sacks in 12 games this year, and 13.5 sacks in 14 games last year. That's 28 sacks in 26 games at Georgia...which comes out ot 1.077 sacks per game in his career in Athens. If even the very best players only average a sack per game, is it surprising when they don't record a sack in their only game against the team with better starting OT's than most NFL teams?

Lane Johnson? After Joeckel and Fisher both come off the board in the top 5, Johnson could easily be a top 10 pick (and if not, there is no way he falls past San Diego at #11).
