I don't believe any restructure will occur with Troy as it adds to the cap next year. Being we were in Cap hell this year, I think they want to be in Cap Purgatory at the worse in 2014 and some day move closer to Cap Heaven.
With future signings like Pouncey and Ben, we need to get the house in order, because Cap Hell gives the team little wiggle room if any at all, as we seen bringing in stop gaps before the Dam breaks.

Okay...but do we have a good chance of signing Victor Butler? He already visited the Saints (right?) and Jets...but they went on a different route by signing another Linebacker..so does this mean he's ours for the taking?

I'm thinking other events may surface before we have a shot to sign Butler. Being he visited the Saints and Jets maybe his asking price will come down and we could be in the ballpark. If we lose Sanders, that would free up some money to possibly sign Butler.
Sometimes I wonder if the Steelers are really interested in signing some of these FA's that come in, at any rate Butler could be a good addition to the team especially if the Steelers get him in their price range

I wonder if they don't want to sign him because they firmly believe that Worilds is as great as they think he is?

Either way...I still want Victor Butler signed here and Harrison's replacement.

I think all of us would want that, but do the Steelers want that or are they playing mind games with Jason Worlids. I don't think they have to though, Jason has plenty of motivation for this coming year, the contract and maybe lack of faith by some if he can do the job.
I'm thinking Worlids will be our Starting OLB opposite Woodley when the bell rings. Now after that its up to him to retain that spot, players like Butler could push him.

That's what worries me...is that they are have tunnel vision towards Worilds and probably won't sign Butler..I would feel more comfortable with Butler starting over Worilds. Never liked that pick...but that's just me.

Based on Worlids limited play it would be tough for me to evaluate him until I see him play a season. What he has going for him now is his 3 years with the team having some grasp of the LeBeau defense.
Instead of thinking what to do he now should be able to play faster, but he has to improve stopping the run on the edge , maybe playing time will improve that part of his game.

As Tomlin would say, maybe it's the flavor of the month.

From what I understand he has has shown flashes.....just like Worilds has.

Has he had a problem staying healthy, as Worilds has?

                              He's missed 6 games in 3 years.
                              2 games a year.
But yes, it's always smarter to sign another teams unknown freeagent.
I mean it's the Steeler way
