Steelers bringing in Gradkowski for visit

@AdamSchefter: Bengals QB Bruce Gradkowski scheduled to visit the Steelers on Wednesday. Steelers looking for another backup

It'll better than Leftwich. Batch is back..but will be our third. Wilson will be practice squad, if not cut by training camp.

Last month I said I hoped we got the Pittsburgh native in.
Still remember when he led that comeback victory for the Raiders against us a few years ago.

I think Grad is a good back up. This is an upgrade over what we had.

It would make sense to try and sign him, two hometown guys backing up Ben would be great, I just hope he and Batch never see the field in 2013.

Crash there is only one fragile Big Ben! He can't back up himself. Yinzers come cheap and play there hearts out as a BACK UP.

Cheap = scrub.

Go get a vet who's done something.

If he wasn't local we wouldn't give him the time of day.

Who do you suggest as a backup QB? How much cap space should be devoted to a backup QB?

Yep Batch has been a scrub. Name me that vet that will come in cheap enough to back up the QB that does no wrong? Lefty did something in this league and was a scrub compared to Batch. There is a reason the scrub yinzer Bruce has been on a team for 6 years in the NFL. I will follow the lead of NFL teams over you Crash. He can be a good back up here. Yinzer or not.

On a side note while looking up how many years he has been in the NFL I see this on his wiki page:
On March 11th, it was announced via Twitter that Bruce Gradkowski had reached a 'verbal agreement' with Cardinals General Manager Steve Keim to become the teams 2013 starting quarterback.

Does Twitter lie? LOL

They gave Leftwich almost $2 million 2010.

You can't have Batch and Gradkowski, one of them have to go.

Their time in the league alone makes that too much money invested in backup QBs.

If Batch is resigned, it will likely be for the veteran minimum, and on a qualified deal, would count less against the cap.

Here is the list of available QBs:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/freeagency/?year=2013&position=8

Moore and, obviously, Flacco are gone. I don't like Campbell any better than Gradkowski. Fitzpatrick will want a shot at starting.

So, who do you suggest?
