Should Ariens be fired THIS WEEK, before the Jags game?
9Yes. Doesn't matter what the alternative is, even if it means having Andersen step in - Ariens needs to be gone, and it needs to be done THIS WEEK, before the Jags game.0%0No. Maybe he needs to be sent packing later, maybe not, but he definitely should not be fired THIS WEEK, before the Jags game.0%9

You should make the poll yes or no...no opinions or statements in there.ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply... -
Re: Should Ariens be fired THIS WEEK, before the Jags game?
I agree. It should be YES or NO.
I will say this, that with the short week it may not be the best to fire him now...but without a doubt I would fire him after next week because we could look for replacement during bye week and have more time to prepare and get everything together.
But he needs to go.Comment

Starting to hear some radio rumblings that Kenny Anderson may start calling playsOriginally posted by BigBen2112I agree. It should be YES or NO.

IF you guys remember I said that Tomlin or someone should take over playcalling for the rest of the year and Arians should be tanked and a new OC found.
If we want to fire Arians this week or during the bye week then sweet...but I think that either way the play caller needs to change.
I think that the talent is there, but the execution isnt and the play calling is not helping that at all...actually hurting it in my opinion.Comment

Yep exactly.Originally posted by stlrz dNo. He should be gone after the Jags game when we have more time to get a new OC up to speed.
Oh and btw...I think he needs to NOT be calling any plays in the Jags game as well.Comment

Certainly not this week if we have a bye coming up after the game. Out of curiosity, does KA have any experience as a play caller?Comment

I dont think he does...but then again he still couldn't be as bad as BA.Originally posted by steeler_fan_in_t.o.Certainly not this week if we have a bye coming up after the game. Out of curiosity, does KA have any experience as a play caller?
Also, I dont see a reason why we cant go out and hire someone as a "consultant" and then next year make them the OC!Comment

Re: Should Ariens be fired THIS WEEK, before the Jags game?
Get a new OC up to speed? With an entirely foreign offense, and entirely foreign personell, in an entirely new front office to him? Not likely. Mike Tomlin is the coach here, and he can guide Bruce Arians offensive gameplan if need be, but you leave the coaches as they are until seasons end. It may have been a mistake to not make a move before the season started, but you are stuck with that decision now, and you must work within that parameter.Originally posted by stlrz dNo. He should be gone after the Jags game when we have more time to get a new OC up to speed.Comment

I advocated such a position a week ago when Bruce showed his true colors once again...but I am in agreement that Tomlin wont take over playcalling and that BA has to go before this whole season is ruined by him!Originally posted by proudpittsburgherGet a new OC up to speed? I don't think in the middle of the season, but most definitely in the offseason. The guy is a turd of a play caller.
