    Foote - Timmons numbers

Amazing how identical Foote and Timmons numbers are this year. Timmons has three interceptions, and Foote none, but their other numbers are nearly identical...

Both had really good years. Foote played as well as anyone could have wanted. I still think Timmons can be better.

Foote gets flack but the guy plays to the best of his ability...he has heart. Which is more than I can say for our O.
      Trolls are people too.

Both Timmons and Foote played well this season. I don't think the Steelers would release a productive ILB like foote until Spense can prove he is an upgrade. Lets get rid of the deadwood, not players who gave it their all this season.

I would go so far as to say that even surrounded by all these other LBs more athletic than he is, Foote 'flashed' the most this season.

And if the Steelers get better play from the NT next season, Foote & Timmons might be even better.

Foote is not the problem with this football team, and SHOULD be brought back.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

            Light up the darkness.

I agree 100%, I'll keep driving my opinion that we need a dominate NT, then all the rest will fall into play.

Will Spence ever get back to being normal, Heath as well, after damaging so many knee ligaments?

Replace Jenkins with Jesse Williams and I am with you. Jenkins is NOT a dominate NT. Jesse Williams will be a stud NT in the NFL.

Foote and Timmons have very different roles in this defense. Timmons plays quite a bit in coverage on Tight Ends and his role is more varied.

A direct comparison of stats is misleading, however I would bring Foote back. With the right hogs in front of him, he can still play.

Agree. The numbers do not tell the whole story.

I would also like to see Foote return if they can bring him back on a qualified veteran deal. I would like to see him compete with Spence and see Spence win the job by the end of the 2013 season, but Spence is obviously a huge question mark.

After that gruesome injury, I'm not sure Spence will be playing football in 2013.

This. It's very misleading because as you said Timmons is all over the field. I also would bring foote back and I agree with you and the others on a nose tackle. If we can get consistent push and someone to eat up two lineman our linebackers will get back to doing what they do best. Getting to the QB. I still don't understand why Hampton saw so many snaps this season especially with what McClendon has shown on several occasions. We also still have Ta'amu tied to the roster.

Both Foote and Timmons had great years, while Foote should be on his way down and Timmons on his way up.

And not to be an ass, but since I've noticed it over five times here lately (in other threads) I thought I'd point out that the word you guys are wanting is "dominant" instead of "dominate".

We need to replace Foote.. I'm hoping Spence can fill that role.
