Steelers Antonio Brown fined $10,000 for taunting against Washington in Week 8

Brown picked up the Steelers' first fine since Week 2 for his backpedaling incident against Washington.

According to Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been fined $10,000 for running backward 20 yards into the end zone on an otherwise penalized play during the Steelers' 27-12 win over Washington in Week 8.

There aren't formal announcements for fines, and typically, news of them are brought to the attention of the media by the player or the player's agent. Brown hasn't confirmed or denied the report, but it wouldn't be surprising if that was the case.

He was penalized 15 yards for taunting on the play, but the Redskins accepted the illegal block in the back penalty on cornerback Curtis Brown instead.

It breaks a string of four consecutive games without a fine for a Steelers player. Linebacker Lawrence Timmons had the last fine, getting docked $21,000 for a hit on Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez in Week 2.

How about this angle - why do the Steelers risk their largest investment at WR returning so many punts? Why not put Wally, Sanders, Rainey, etc back there - one of their cheaper options.

the numbers dont support this at all. he has 4 TD's for his career, 2 on returns and 2 on catches.

i love what AB brings to the table, but lets be factual.

I meant to say every time he touches the ball on punt returns in answer to why AB is being used there instead of some other players.

and hasn't AB had a couple of TD punt returns brought back because of penalties, this past one against the Redskins and earlier in the season against the Raiders?

If Wallace made 11 guys miss on a PR he could moonwalk naked into the end zone.

Maybe so, but he's still the best we have as a punt returner.

He made a douche move to taunt the 'Skins, though, and for the record, I wish his fine had been higher...with a salary of $8 million a year, I doubt whether $10,000 means that much to him. Fine him enough to take the Santonio out of him.

He's had several VERY long returns called back this season. He's had one or two td's called back. Yes Antonio Brown is a THREAT to score each time he's back there. Every team in the league knows it. The only other player I've seen in recent memory that has been AS electric or more electric than Brown with the ball in his hands is Devin Hester and he broke all kinds of return records. I understand your point but he's pretty damn good at it.
