    Rookie Draft Pick Jersey Numbers

Granted, this is of course subject to change once we get down to the final 53 (when some vets get cut, often times rooks sweep in an claim that number if they like it better).

We all knew that DeCastro and Adams wouldn't be wearing their college numbers in the pros because of Mike Webster and Joe Greene.

David DeCastro #61 (be sure to wash that Mahan stink out of it first)

Mike Adams #76 (this number will look different on Adams' 6'7" frame than it did on Chris Hoke)

Sean Spence #51 (didn't waste any time recycling Farrior's old number, did they?)

Alameda Ta'Amu #95 (countless players have worn Lloyd's number in the preseason, only to switch in the regular season)

Chris Rainey #22 (hopefully he spends more time on the field than Duce Staley and is appreciated more by Steeler fans than William Gay)

Toney Clemons #11 (not as tall as Kent Graham, but significantly taller than Stefan Logan)

David Paulson #48 (may have a career similar to Matt Cushing)

Terrence Frederick #37 (get to wear his secondary coach's old number; no more Anthony Madison)

Kelvin Beachum #68 (hopefully he is able to carve out a long career as a late round pick like Chris Kemoeatu, but has a better head on his shoulders)
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hope Ta'Amu stays with #95. Favorite number and about time someone "significant" will wear it.

I wonder what my next jersey will be? A DeCastro home black? Maybe a DeCastro away white? Or even a DeCastro throwback bumblebee...hmmm....

Someone here got a pic of DeCastro holding a #1 jersey (w/ Roonbeams next to him).

What's up with that? He kicks too?

Nike made up jerseys for all of the first round picks with the #1 on them for players to hold up on stage at Radio City when their names were called. Since DeCastro didn't go to New York for the draft, he got his #1 jersey at Steeler HQ instead (he won't be wearing the Gary Anderson single bar facemask any time soon).

I read he was given a choice between #61 and #66 and he thought #66 looked better.
