Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

They let God's Gift to Quarterbacking go to Denver to replace God's Gift to Wildcat Quarterbacking. There is no way they do anything except for taking the consensus best QB prospect to come out of the draft since God's Gift to Quarterbacking himself (of course, it has yet to be determined if Andrew Luck will be as capable as Peyton was in "Cut That Meat!" commercials).

You can't ask for much more...He's got the arm to make all the necessary throws, he has the experience running a pro-offense in college, has a Stanford-level brain on his shoulders, and has the athleticism that actually equals many of the measurables that Cam Newton put up at the combine last year.

My only concern is that he looks like the kid from "Freaks and Geeks" back in the day (that guy's also on the TV show "Bones" since then, and was also the guy who wasn't allowed to get a word in edgewise in the movie "Waiting").

Anyway, with the first overall pick in the 2012 PlanetSteeler Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select QB Andrew Luck.

The Redskins didn't trade away 3 first round picks and a second round pick for just anyone. They are setting their sites on Thurston Howell III.

      Whoops...I meant Robert Griffin III.

Of course, based on the lack of weapons and o-line talent in D.C., RG3 will have to fashion an offense out of coconuts and woven palm leaves like Gilligan's Island.

The Vikings need a franchise left tackle badly. Their last franchise left tackle got busted in the "Love Boat" scandal, and is now in Baltimore, where that type of behavior is accepted (if not encouraged). The best left tackle in the draft is the brother of Panthers Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil. And unlike the brother of another Pro Bowl center (*cough*Mike Pouncey*cough*cough*), Matt Kalil's draft stock is not artificially inflated because of his brother. Matt is a legit franchise left tackle, and you don't pass up legit franchise left tackles when they come along.

The Minnesota Vikings select USC LT Matt Kalil.

Squidkid sent me a PM with his top 4 choices for the Browns, since he would not be at his computer when Cleveland's selection was due. And of course, since Holmgren wasn't willing to do what it takes to go get a franchise QB to compete with Ben, Flacco, and Dalton, they've decided that if you can't pass, you might as well run.

The Cleveland Browns select Alabama RB Trent Richardson.

Discipline of Steel PM'ed me his preferred picks for Tampa as well. The best available player on his list happens to be a cornerback, which is nice since Ronde Barber is older than dirt, Aqib Talib may end up in prison, and Eric Wright isn't worth the #1 CB money that Tampa gave him this offseason (he's a #2 CB at best).

The Tampa Bay Bucs select LSU CB Morris Claiborne.

The Rams biggest need is finding weapons for Sam Bradford (especially after Brandon Lloyd jumped ship to following Josh McDaniels to New England in a sad Leonard Pope-Todd Haley like shadow relationship). If Washington hadn't given St. Louis an extra 2nd round pick this year, plus a 1st round pick next year, and another 1st round pick the year after that in order to move up from #6 to #2, the Rams likely would have taken Justin Blackmon at #2 anyway. Now they have that ridiculous bounty of picks (whoops...shouldn't say "bounty" when talking about the team who currently employs Gregg Williams), and Blackmon still falls into their laps at #6 anyway. Neener neener ha ha.

The Rams select Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon.

They've tried it before. They've failed before. And now the Jaguars still need to find a stud DE to put pressure on quarterbacks.

They're going to hope this is the guy that finally changes that trend.

                Melvin Ingram

6'1" 264 lb DE from South Carolina

Tannehill, Tannehill, Tannehill. Blah Blah Blah.

You don't make a jump like that in draft stock and deserve it. There are no QBs worth drafting at this point for the Dolphins.

You know who is worth it? A fantastic player who has proven it time and time again.

                  The Miami Dolphins select:

                  David Decastro

6'5" 316 lb OG from Stanford

And now Ruthless can't have him.

With Tannehill surprising slipping past Miami, might the Bills take Tannehill and develop him as the heir apparent to Ryan Fitzpatrick? Well, it was only 6 months ago that they just gave Fitz a seven-year, $62.195 million contract, containing $24 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus, so no. Besides, Ralph Wilson and Chan Gailey are old...they might not have the patience to live long enough to see Tannehill develop from a college WR (he caught 112 passes for 1596 yards and 10 TD at Texas A&M before being switched to QB) into a bona fide NFL starter at QB.

Could they go for a BPA pick, putting a tackling machine like Luke Kuechly behind a potentially dominant DL consisting of Mario Williams, Marcel Dareus, Kyle Williams, and Mark Anderson/Chris Kelsay/Shawne Merriman? That would sure be tempting, but they need to fill a need at tackle first. They improved their interior OL in recent drafts, but have watched OT's like Jason Peters, Demetress Bell, and of course, the awesome Jonathan Scott leave for greener pastures in Pennsylvania instead. They need a big ol' tackle like Iowa's Riley Reiff.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Amazingly, D Rock stole my O-Line stud DeCastro .... however it's too high for a guard to be drafted anyways *such lies* so I'm going for another position of need in the Memphis Nose Tackledontari-poe_display_image.jpg DONTARI POE ....thus leaving Luke Kuechly still readily an option for Steeler Nation!

I know the Seahawks just signed Matt Flynn, but reports are that Pete Carroll is absolutely SMITTEN with Ryan Tannehill.

It's not as if they signed Flynn to a massive, big money long-term deal either. It was a three-year, $19.5 million contract with $10 million guaranteed, including a $6 million signing bonus. His yearly base salaries will be $2 million in 2012, $5.25 million in 2013, and $6.25 million in 2014. That's manageable for a year or two while they bring Tannehill along slowly, since he only has about a year-and-a-half of experience as a starting QB in college.

*Random Steeler-related Tannehill note...why was Tannehill playing WR instead of QB in 08-09 for Texas A&M? Because current Steeler QB Jerrod Johnson was their starting QB instead.*

The Cardinals were interested in David DeCastro, Michael Floyd, and Riley Reiff here, and would now like to say that the 3 teams picking 8th, 9th, and 10th are big fat doodieheads!!! They considered going for a top notch pass-rushing OLB to play opposite Sam Acho (do you believe that Clark Freaking Haggans actually started all 16 games for Arizona last season?), but don't see great value here, since the best pass rusher on the board is Quinton Coples, and he is strictly a 4-3 DE, not a 3-4 OLB. Instead, they'll make a BPA pick. Normally, ILB's don't go so early in the draft since the league is morphing into a pass-centric game that devalues run stuffers...but Arizona plays in the NFC West, where they have to deal with large doses of Frank Gore, Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch, and SJax.

Besides, Ken Whisenhunt just noticed that NottinghamForest_UK just posted that "Luke Kuechly still readily an option for Steeler Nation" so rather than waiting to take Kuechly away from the Steelers at a later date, they will steal Kuechly away from the Steelers now. Tackling Machine to the desert.

While running a little behind, due to a last minute facelift procedure, Jerry Jones wipes the sweat of his new brow and screams out "How bout that new cowboy QUINTON COPLES"
