Hightower showed some stiffness changing direction and was not quick in coverage drills. His backpedal looked mechanical and forced, while Hightower showed little in the way of being able to burst out of his plant. He's a big, forceful linebacker with solid straight line speed, but Hightower did nothing today to dispel the belief he's a two-down defender.

I don't care what Sports Illustrated says about Hightower. I've watched him play since he was in pop warner....every game, every snap. I even watched every game of Madden he's played.

Go where? I'm remembering Hightower now and I'm thinking he would be a great addition to the team if it wasn't for his age. I mean, I'd say he was past his prime by the last Police Academy movie...

not sure, haven't really heard a lot about this Hightower kid here on this board but from what I have read Dont'a is a 2-down LB who is a liability in pass coverage.

I can see it now- we'll pass on him- he goes to Balt. and he's the next Ray Lewis Jr for the Rats for the next 13 yrs..... AND we sign Tim to a FA contract for a year or 2.

Is this why Hightower didn't do the cones at the combine? Everyone on here who questioned his coverage ability used the exact words this guy used. Stiff, mechanical, etc...

I wonder if our FO thinks he is first round material...
