Carnell Lake - the Second Coming ... of St. LeBeau?

http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/20 ... -secondary

This is one of the best articles I have read in a VERY long time ... details about the game planning, execution, a play-by-play example ...

I came away COMPLETELY flabbergasted about how awesome CL is, and GRATEFUL that he is our guy!!

Lake seems to go the extra mile and just focus on the basics. With his knowledge of the game and as good as he was when he played, we'd be hard pressed to find a better DB's coach. Nice article, thanks for posting.

Well, after reading that I wouldn't mind if Bad WOrd sticks around a few more years so the Lakester can learn the ropes a bit more!

I thought it was cool that Acero de Hombre got mentioned in the article...he posted on here for a while (from Mexico City, if I remember correctly).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

He was actually the guy who I got my dead birds sig pic from, way back when.

I finally tracked him down a few months ago, and asked him if he could send me another copy (mine having been sucked into some black hole vortex, I blame the *s I.T. dept!), but he told me he didn't know where he had found it, so no can do.

"Hombre de Acero" - "Men of Steel" in spanish. Ole!

Just two years ago our DBs were a mess. Young guys with talent but nobody seeming to be able to make plays or even be in the right position to make plays. In comes Carnell and it has been a sea-change with these guys. Even though all the rules favor the WR these days, our DBs have been noticeably improved. Lake clearly knows how to coach and he has been an awesome addition to the staff! Great coaching can make average players better, above average players, all-pro.

Lake was one of the best as a player, is now making his mark in the world of coaching.

St. Lake?

Nope.

Great Lake.

Too easy.

If he has a future at DC, here's hoping it's in Pittsburgh. If DL sticks around for a few more years, we may lose CL to a promotion elsewhere.

Carnell is a great guy and was a great player. I only wish we could get a safety like Carnell on our team after Troy is gone. I guess I would take a safety like Troy less the injuries.
