What team would you put as the sixth seed?

Well guys, we are 3/4 of the way through the season. With twelve games in the books, there are 4 AFC teams leading the way with identical 9-3 records - and one of the AFC West teams has to make it thanks to league rules .

So let us assume for now that they all make it in.

There are also four (5 actually) teams tied two games back for the number six spot......so who gets it and why?

    I chose Tenn,

They have been playing better lately.
They play both Jacksonville and Indy in their last four games, and end the season against a Houston team that could either be locked in or reeling.

Oakland is going nowhere with an injured McFadden

The Jets have been set to implode and end the season with the Giants and Miami. Two average teams that could knock them off.

Cincy has the best chance otherwise IMO but the rookie combo looked like they were succumbing to the pressure of late season football last week and it only gets tougher.

I chose the NY Jets and hope we eliminate them once again in the playoffs.

like a lot of people, I'm tired of Rex Ryan writing checks his players can't cash...

I picked Tenn because they have a running game and veteran QB.

        How long is McFadden out?

I picked the Jets. Ten is going to get beat by NO Sunday. That will be the beginning of the end of their season.

Re: What team would you put as the sixth seed?

            Jets: KC, @Phi, NYG, @Mia
            Oak: @GB, Det, @KC, SD
            Cin: Hou, @STL, Ari, Balt
            Ten: NO, @Indy, Jax, @Hou

Those are the remaining schedules. I don't see a distinct advantage for anyone. I could see Ten beating NO on grass. Oak should lose to GB, but what if they run the ball for 200+ and control the clock? This could be the trap game of trap games for Green Bay, plus the Raiders are still pissed about Super Bowl II.

KC and Miami are playing better now than earlier in the year, so those aren't gimmes. The Giants and Eagles are listing badly, and Detroit is also in a funk. Houston can't win forever with a rookie, or can they?

Going to be interesting. This is the beginning of the best part of the NFL season. If these were college teams, only the GB and NO games would be televised as the rest fought for mid-December bowl games.

Jets win out IMHO. I cant see any of the other 3 teams finishing better than 9-7.

It sure would be funny if 3/4ths of the AFC North ended up in the playoffs!

I'm rooting for it not to be Tennessee or the Jets. Tennessee has the best QB. And the Jets could be a tough matchup and they may want some retribution.

Re: What team would you put as the sixth seed?

If we get the 5th seed, we don't want some crappy team getting the 6th spot. We want to the best possible team to get the 6th seed (a team that would be able to eliminate the 3rd and 1st seed teams on the road in consecutive weeks).

Because, in that case, if we were able to beat the 4th and 2nd seeded teams on the road, that would give us an AFC Championship game at home between the two wildcard teams. That would be the only scenario in which we could have a home playoff game if we are unable to bypass Baltimore for the AFC North crown.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I'm hoping for Houston and Baltimore to lose one game each then we don't have to worry about the 5th seed provided the Steelers win out. :P

We own the tiebreaker with the Patriots due to head to head win, correct?
