In fairness to BA, I bet he actually has a pretty complex playbook given all the formations that he uses. He also does quite a bit with the routes downfield to get guys open. In reality, he makes it too complex, overthinks, and ruins the game flow with his play calling.

I really believe this statement.
Notice how many timeouts we call because the play is late coming in.
Ben several times during the KC game looked over at the sidelines in disgust with a WTF look.
You can be the the best play designer in the world.
You can blame it on the players not executing
But in the end if the players cant execute the plays called then you have to go with the plays they can execute.
Thats what makes a good coordinator in my opinion.

Nice to see you using MY word for this post!! Had no idea it had
caught on in here, the way it has!!!

I just cant believe that MT, BA, Kugler, and RB's , etc cant come up with
some creative RUN packages. Arent these PROFESSIONAL coaches and players,
who have been coaching and/or playing since they were 8 yrs old???

If they cant come up with their own, how about copying a team like
the Texans, for a little inspiration??

Seriously, when an opposing defense only has to prepare for 1, maybe 2, different
running plays, they dont have to prepare very long, and can spend more time on
defending our passing game.

All I can say is, The Walrus-Faced Mole is one day closer to retirement!!!
