Last night, and every game from this point out, are very important. For him to check out last night because he didnt feel well makes me question what has happened to the professional football player?? Considering how important the game was, how the O-line was struggling to protect Ben last night, I wonder about Pouncey's mental make up. Does anyone here really think that Mike Webster or Dermonti Dawson would have allowed themselves to be taken out for a viral infection? Seriously?
And while I'm at it, opponents are now bent on taking a way the deep pass, in particular Mike Wallace, so I think it's time the Steelers make an adjustment themselves. If opponents are going to play off of Wallace 10 plus yards they need to start attacking underneath. Take what they are giving. Quit trying to force what isnt there.
Also, as many here know, I was heavy on Rashard Mendenhall and him taking Willie Parker's job several years back. Well now I am becoming anti-Mendenhall. In my opinion he has flat-out regressed. Never have I seen a running back his size get taken down so often in the open field by one tackler (mostly a DB). If you compare the way that Redman, Moore, or even Dwyer attack a hole it is far more aggressive than what Mendy does. I think it is time Tomlin gets Mendenhall's attention and does something to light a fire under him or just go with who is better right now. It is clearly not Mendenhall.
Here is my wish list for the Steelers in this coming draft.
1-David DeCastro OG Stanford
2-Bacarri Rambo FS Georgia
3-Marvin McNutt WR Iowa
4-Rhett Ellison FB/TE USC
