The More I Think About It...

...the more I believe that the 3-4 will be here to stay in Pittsburgh...

Especially if Tomlin hires Aaron Smith in some capacity as an assistant coach when he retires from playing...

    Think about it...

    If Lebeau retires:

    Promote Keith Butler to DC...

Keep Carnell Lake as DB coach...

Promote Jerry Olsavsky to LB coach...

Hire Aaron Smith as a defensive assistant...

You have former players as position coaches who know the ins and outs of the Zone Blitz 3-4 technique...

You have Butler, who played in a 3-4 in the NFL, serving as DC after 8+ years in the system...

    Tomlin loves continuity...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

OK, I'm puzzled. Was there any real consideration of going to a different scheme? Of course, I mean by the coaching staff. Fans will conjecture about anything.

If there were conjecture by the coaching staff, why in the world would they ever tell fans about it?

I've always thought that, once LeBeau retired, a change could be made...there still could be, I guess...
