Yup...it will come down to turnovers. I consider home field to be a 3 point advantage in most cases, and I consider ever turnover to be essentially a 4 point advantage.

Playing a team like the Ravens, we know them, they know us, we hate them, they hate us, we respect them, they respect us, we hit them, they hit us...it doesn't matter where we play them either (no real home field advantage in this particular series), it is going to be a hard-fought close game (how many games in a row was the point differential 4 points or less before this last game?), unless of course, turnovers become a major factor one way or the other. We gave them 7 turnovers and don't take back any. If each turnover is worth 4 points, that's a 28 point advantage to Baltimore. Final score: Baltimore 35, Pittsburgh 7. Voila.

The Seahawks suck. Talent-wise, we are 3 touchdowns better than them. Add to that a 3 point advantage for us playing at Heinz Field, and you get a 24 point advanatage to Pittsburgh. Final score: Pittsburgh 24, Seattle 0. How about that.

The Manning-less Colts suck too, but not as bad as the Seahawks. Talent-wise, we are 2 touchdowns better than them. Give them back 3 points because the game was played in their dome, making it an 11 point advantage for the Steelers. We turned the ball over 3 times and they turned it over once, for a 2 turnover differential in their favor. If each turnover is worth 4 points, as I stated above, you can give Indy back another 8 points, for a 3 point advantage to the Steelers. Final score: Pittsburgh 23, Indianapolis 20. Yikes.

For this Houston game, I think the talent works out pretty evenly. Schaub, Johnson, Foster, Daniels. Roethlisberger, Wallace, Mendenhall, Miller. Williams, Watt, Ryans, Cushing, Joseph. Harrison, Woodley, Timmons, Polamalu, Taylor. We have a disadvantage in terms of our o-line, and they have a disadvantage in that they are still adjusting to a new 3-4 scheme while we have been running that defense seemingly forever. I don't foresee a huge home field advantage here either (last time we went to Houston early in the season, they made us wear black them opened up the dome roof in an effort to bake us in the hot Texas sun, but that didn't work at all), so overall I see this as a pick-'em type of game...home field advantage won't make much of a difference. If the turnovers are even, it could come down simply to which team happens to have the ball last in a very close game (maybe something like a 21-20 final either way). If we have a one turnover advantage, we could win something like 24-20. If we have a two turnover advantage, we could win something like 28-20. Same goes for if the Texans had those turnover advantages...they'd win 24-20 or 28-20. The only way I see the score getting out of hand is if one team has a buttload of turnovers like the first game against Baltimore. If we hold onto the ball and take it away from them, we win...simple as that. If they hold onto the ball and take it away from us, they win...simple as that.
            That dissertation was simple? :P
