If you arent going to bring in cover guys...

....then you can not expect your defense to stop the pass with a 3, 4, and even a 5 man rush!!

This team personnel wise is not built to cover. It is built to get after the QB. But 6 blocking 3, 4, and even 5 is not going to cut it.

A 4 man secondary that has 3 of the 4 who cannot cover needs help. And in the nickle with William Gay, that makes 4 out of 5 that can't cover.

The Steeler pass rush was non-existent yesterday, but by and large they have been good at getting after the quarterback. The Ravens did a good job of identifying who would be rushing and getting a body on the rusher. Flacco helped by being accurate and on time with the majority of his throws. The Ravens just played better than the Steelers yesterday.

Let's see what happens over the next couple weeks.

Pap, there isnt going to be much of a pass rush when you are consistently sending 3 and 4 after the QB. There is a slight match-up problem there.

They were good getting after the QB when Harrison and Smith weren't broken and worn out. Both looked like a shadow of their former selves.

I don't recall seeing one inside blitz by Timmons or Farrior. If we don't blitz LeBeau's defense is incapbale of stopping a QB given time. He seems to forget that at times. Possibly because his blitz options are too complex for even him to remember

Because the players they pay to execute didn't win the one on one match ups. The Ravens ability to run the ball had an impact. Flacco was money yesterday and the offense couldn't stop giving the ball away equaled a blow out.

Yup, that's what I said in a different thread. Woodley was stoned all day long. Harrison got held early, but that was about it for him, he ran out of gas and still played okay.

No...and what I did see is that Flacco threw 3 TD's and on all 3 of them...the Steelers rushed 4 men.

How on earth can you ever expect a player to execute when there are more blockers than men rushing the QB??
