Well that's a totally bogus video cause we already know the Anti-Batch people who hated that pick already said he was too slow to be a 3rd down RB, and ran only a 4.88 forty

I know very little about this Batch kid, but everything I do learn makes me like him even more. I'm excited about this kid.

This is from Brown's first post draft conference call. Now he's on the same team!

There’s a YouTube clip of you picking off a pass going about 70, but getting caught from behind. What was that about?
I don’t like making excuses, so I don’t want to say because it will make me look like I make excuses, but it was a 12-play drive and I had lower back problems. Either way, he’s a fast tailback. I’m going to give him his props.

Do you know who he is?
No, but I actually met him in Pittsburgh and I didn’t know who he was, but he was in the opposite room as me, so we got to meet.

          When you visited Pittsburgh?
Yes, he was one of the visitors. I got to meet him, he’s really cool. But I don’t like him because he caught me.

Brown looked as if he ran out of gas on that play.

Re: Baron Batch chases down Curtis Brown after 70yd INT

In my opinion, a RB, especially a 3rd down RB, what a players 40 time is not important. What is crucial is a players 10 yard split time. That shows the initial quickness and suddeness that a player has to hit that hole HARD & FAST! Watch Batch when he runs. The kid hits the hole hard and very very quick. On a 3rd and say 3 to 4 to go, with 4 WR's and Batch back there, a defense truly cannot go all out after Ben cause if they give it to Batch on quick hitter, or a pitch, the defense won't have time to react to get and tackle Batch. Look, not withstanding all the Mendenhall stuff, I love the guy, but if you notice, Rashard is not overly fast right out of the gate. He does not hit that hole immediately. He tends to wait back there, and see where the best hole develops. That's why Rashard is not a good option as a 3rd down RB.

Here's some interesting stuff for you guys. Take a look at the Individual times for both Baron Batch, and ALOT of Steeler fans Baby,,Tiawan Jones. Notice the 10 Yd split times.

Also, here is some footage of Batch. Maybe this has been posted in another thread. And if so, I am sorry. But take a look how quick it seems Batch hits the Line when he gets the hand off.

I really Love this kid. And think he will not only be great as a 3rd down RB catching the ball. But a good runner as well. Defenses who like to come ALL out after Ben on 3rd down, better beware
