I have to be honest, thank goodness we arent drafting past three rounds because i dont recognize a single name selected except for the two I took. Im just not the draft guru some of you are. On the other hand, Im keeping track of at least 50 new players in the NFL, plus everyone already there, and i cant think of the name of a single baseball player beyond A-Rod. And Roger Clemons but he's retired. OK, and Barry Bonds too. Id better know about him, its when he, Bonilla, and Van Slyke, and Drabek left the Pirates that i stopped caring about baseball. Turns out thats also around the time the club went permanently south. Anyway, Im content to know about the top NFL rookies...and I anticipate the draft, at least for the first day or two.

You can't forget about Albert Poo Holes.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I took Aaron Willliams with that GB last pick in the 1st, because he was what I thought the best player available. Woodson isn't getting any younger and Aaron Williams is gonna be (I think anyways) possibly the next Ed Reed-type ball hawk. Aaron can play either CB or Safety. I hope whoever picks him (Steelers?) that he stays at CB though. This guy is impressive..I like him better than Prince actually.

          this from WalterFootball's previous mock:

2(63) Pittsburgh Steelers: James Carpenter, OT, Alabama

The Steelers will need multiple offensive linemen if they can't re-sign Willie Colon. James Carpenter has drawn some interest from the team and fits perfectly into their blocking scheme.

Carpenter's draft stock is gaining a ton of momentum. Some reports have Carpenter emerging as a first-round prospect.

and this is where WalterFootball has James Carpenter going in his latest mock:

2(43) Minnesota Vikings: James Carpenter, OT, Alabama

Teams that draft quarterbacks early usually spend their next selection on an offensive lineman or play-making weapon for that signal-caller. Think Sam Bradford-Rodger Saffold, Matthew Stafford-Brandon Pettigrew and Matt Ryan-Sam Baker.

As Brett Favre discovered last year, the Vikings really need to upgrade their offensive line. James Carpenter is gaining a ton of momentum. There's even been talk that he could be chosen late in the first round, which I'm not buying quite yet.

and this from Mike Mayock about Marcus Gilbert:

            TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 2011

Mayock On the Draft: Offensive Tackle, Interior Line

            The Riser

            Marcus Gilbert

            6-6, 330

            40-time: 5.41

            Florida

Mayock: ``Has long arms. Is a strong kid. I thought he was a pretty solid player on tape. I liked him even better at the Senior Bowl. He looks the part and is a solid second-round pick, but it wouldn’t surprise me if somebody took him late in the first.’’

            Round projection: 2

and this is who WalterFootball has us selecting at 2(63) in his latest mock:

2(63) Pittsburgh Steelers: Marcus Gilbert, OT, Florida

Marcus Gilbert's draft stock is gaining some momentum. Mike Mayock recently said that he could be chosen in the second round.

marcus gilbert in the first? wow. that would shock me.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.
