Re: Pouncey Weigh-IN
What was his brother's?
Hopefully he starts to drop towards the end of Round 1 into Round 2. People are going to start to catch on that Pouncey II IS NOT Pouncey I. There is a reason Maurkice left first. he is a better player. Being twins is not a prediction of NFL success."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!" -
Re: Pouncey Weigh-IN
I'd be groovy with him in the second round. Maybe even move up to the middle of the round for him.
But taking him at 31 would be a luxury we and most teams can't afford.Comment

Here are the Pouncey I measureables from last year

I found one source that said he had 32.4" arms according to ESPN site

Re: Pouncey Weigh-IN
Short arms don't seem to be hurting Maurkice.
Someone will pick Mikey before our turn in the first round.Comment

IMO Pouncey I's success has inflated the perceived value of Pouncey II. If not for his brother's success Pouncey II would be rated as a early to mid Round 2 pick."My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"Comment

Re: Pouncey Weigh-IN
I've said this before and I'll say it again, Mike was very well thought of at UF by his coaches. I KNOW that many of them considered him to be a better player then Maurkice.

exactly the same length as his twin brother's arms...too bad we can't measure the size of his heart because I've seen Mike play and I'll bet you it would have been seriously big.
hopefully that and weighing in 10 lbs lighter than expected at barely over 300 lbs will be enough to drop Mike Pouncey down to #31 in the 1st round.Comment

Mike Pouncey’s goals: Play center, get selected higher than his brother
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on February 25, 2011
The comparisons are inevitable: Mike Pouncey looks exactly like his brother Maurkice if you forget about the tattoos.
Their style of play isn’t as similar — depending on who you ask. Doug Farrar of Yahoo! Sports says Mike Pouncey is more of a piledriving guard than Maurkice, with unique power. Maurkice is more of a technician that seems to better handle the intricacies of the center position.
Mike doesn’t see it that way. He said Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine that he wants to play center at the next level. And he thinks he’s a lot like his twin brother.
“I think I block in the open field better, but like I said we’re the same player,” Pouncey said during an entertaining media session.
His goal is to get taken higher than No. 18 in the draft (where Maurkice was taken) or he’ll never hear the end of it. That goal seems rather high, but Mike says a few teams have told him he’s a better prospect than Maurkice. Most draft analysts disagree.
Pouncey confirmed he has met with Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh here. He’ll participate in all drills except for lifting and said that skipping the Senior Bowl was a “business decision.”
Steelers fans hoping for a Pouncey brothers combo platter shouldn’t get their hopes up yet, according to Mike.
“It’s not looking too good. But there’s free agency in the NFL.”
