The easiest way to spot a "troll" is to look at the number of posts (usually low number and new screen name) and if they are throwing out totally ridiculous posts.

It continues to amaze me how so many of you guys can't resist to take the bait.
Not trying to feed the troll but I don't think Woodley is a $10 million dollar OLB.

I understand the need to keep him but he reminds me of Santonio Holmes... awesome when he is on top of his game but prone to disappear for stretches in a season.

It's getting a little tense on this board. Anyone who questions a player or a franchise move is called every name in the book.

Where was this when BA was getting bashed?
Felt…look at James Harrison in year 3 and LaMarr Woodley in year 3. See the difference? Woodley is way ahead of James at the same point in their careers. At this rate (where Woodley has progressed each year in the league), can you imagine where Woodley will be in say 3 years? $10 million will be a discount…and this current $10 million is only for one year and it gives the team a chance to sign him long term. Big picture.
Sure, Harrison showed a marked improvement after year 3...he hadn't even played much before that point (except ST's)! Woodley, on the other hand, already has a lot of starting experience. Do you really expect, in three years, that Woodley will be doubling his current production? I think his production will remain about where it has been the past couple of seasons. I like Woodley, but for the most part, what you see is what you are going to get. Look, I'm happy we've got him...I just worry about the consequences of spending that much money on him.
If Woodley can produce 10-15 sacks a season over the next few years he will be worth the price. He already has the team record for sacks of any player in their first 3 years.

Keep in mind the franchise tag is just keeping him away from others. There will be a long term deal with some amount of guaranteed money that will lower the cap hit. The lack of a CBA is just screwing all this up now and this was the best way to get it done short term.
"My team, may they always be right, but right or wrong...MY TEAM!"

4 sacks vs Bengals, 2.5 vs Browns, 1 vs Titans, .5 vs Panthers, 1 vs Raiders and his only sack against a winning record was against the Falcons in week one!! He had no sacks versus the Patriots, Saints, Ravens, Bucs and Jets in those 5 games against teams with a winning percentage above 500.

The stats prove that Woodley's sacks were of the dong variety against lesser offenses where he was left unblocked and had free access to the QB. In fact, can anyone show me a sack he had where he actually had to work to get to the QB? Didn't think so!!
Go find me how many times he has gone sackless in a playoff game. I'll be waiting for a a while, since it hasn't happened yet. He has 11 sacks in 7 career playoff games. I wonder if any of those playoff teams had winning percentages over .500?
That is simply because Harrison gets doubled teamed in the playoffs. The other team knew that Woodley will be a non factor for the most part. They would rather have the occasional OL stunt breakdown sack from Lamarr, allowing him to go unabated to the QB than have Harrison disrupt nearly every pass play.

The Ravens and Jets knew from the regular season that Woodley is a non factor and was easy to handle so they rolled a double team on the true factor in the playoff game, Harrison.

I guarantee Woodley is out of the league in about 2 years. This fraud will be exposed just like Willie Parker was exposed............ and I wonder what poster was right about Parker. That's right it was Prowler, you know the guy with a mind of his own who refused to hang off of Parker's jock and the media's hype. Who was right?
It says below your username on each of your 23 posts that you joined this board 3 weeks after Willie Parker signed with the Redskins, genius. How could you have possibly come on here and spread your vast knowledge about Parker's Steeler downfall, when you hadn't joined until he was already gone? Unless you are...someone else...coming back...

Hey look up my posts on Stillernation. I received more shots at me for my stance on Parker than anyone but in the end I was right. I was the one who made up his nickname of Fumblelina FYI.

This reminds of that guy Danno who used to post weekly about Jason Gildon and the Gildong sack.

I have no desire to go to Stillernation. We drafted Mendenhall at the right time and dumped Parker at the right time. But I won't disrespect those 3 straight seasons of 1200+ yards rushing for an UDFA. I will never forgot him running toward my seat in the end zone at Ford Field in SBXL (topped only by James Harrison running toward my seat in the end zone at Raymond James in SBXLIII).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Big mistake on managements part once again!! I would have let him walk.

you would have allowed a rising, young star in the prime of his career to leave without any compensation, huh?

I'm glad you're not part of the Steelers' brain trust...
If you want to call an OLB in a 3-4D with an average of 3 tackles a game a rising star than you are certainly entitled to that opinion. The Steelers are way overpaying Woodley and all we are doing is driving up the price to sign real star OLB's of the present and future such as Harrison. You know the guy who had twice as many tackles as Woodley, twice as many forced fumbles as Woodley and more real sacks not of the dong variety.

I'd rather spend this 10 million on a top of the line CB or a safety to replace slow Ryan Clark and or an interior lineman, thank you very much!!

I don't really believe we will miss Woodley' production at all. We could put Lawrence Timmons there and get twice the production of Lamarr guaranteed. Foote could fill in for Timmons next season or even Sylvester and we would be fine.
Total crap! This had the makings of another Mike Vrabel debacle, if you think Woodley has max out your a fool.

                Is Prowler LVG?

I thought Prowler was the canadian that said America deserved what happened on 9-11.

Prowler isn't LVG. He was around on the Trib board years ago. Was on a personal mission to prove that SFL (now Dee Dub) was a fraud. Ended up calling a truce, IIRC.

thanks for that info, for a minute there I actually thought LVG had found something else to complain about besides Mike Tomlin.

I feel much better now knowing that didn't happen.
