    Re: Colts cut Bob Sanders

I would definitely consider bringing Bob Sanders back to Western PA...

He is obviously not an every down player (not even an every game player at this point!!)
but imagine adding Bob Sanders to the Steelers' Dime defense...take Farrior off the field and put Sanders in his place...

The Steelers rarely use a dime defense, but the option becomes MUCH more attractive with a guy like Sanders...he can play the run extremely well and cover the pass better than a James Farrior...if the Steelers used the dime as much as they did the nickel defense, you would give him enough snaps to get your money's worth while not throwing him on the field for so many snaps that he breaks down physically...

So, a revised dime defense would look like this:

    DL - Ziggy and Keisel
LB - Woodley, Timmons and Harrison
DB - Taylor, McFadden (?), Gay (?), Clark, Troy and Sanders

With a DB like him available, I would run the dime more than the nickel...

    Just a thought...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

Chargers swoop in to sign SS Bob Sanders

      Today - 8:35 PM ET

Chargers signed SS Bob Sanders to a one-year contract.

A bolt from the blue. Sanders had made visits to the Jets, Jags, and Bills, but the Chargers were never mentioned as an interested party. We're guessing the Chargers will still make it a priority to re-sign Eric Weddle at free safety, with Steve Gregory moving back to a nickel role. San Diego is a potential contender with a leadership vacuum on defense, so Sanders is worth the one-year gamble on what is likely an incentive-laden deal. Said Norv Turner, "He's healthy and he's excited about the opportunity."

Good signing for the Chargers. Seemingly low risk, but very high reward if he is ever healthy again.
