Let it go guys!! The better team won. The Steelers current personel on defense cannot stop the likes of Green Bay, New England, and New Orleans. The short, quick passing, spread the defense out with 4 and 5 wides is something that even the great LeBeau cannot stop when he doesnt have quality in the secondary.

Had the Steelers faced the Patriots in the playoffs they would have gotten blown out and not even made the Super Bowl. And that means this team wasnt the best team and deserving of winning the Super Bowl. And Green Bay proved it.

You've been spouting this stuff awhile on here.
GB scored 24 on offense. Hardly some huge number. And the offense set them up a coulpe times too.
GB is good. We were good, but had some attrition. As for why our offense was a bit shady, the OL was in shambles. Ben was clearly physically struggling. And the WRs were a bit outmanned IMO. It was what it was, a close loss where we came back and had a chance to win.
So maybe we do struggle versus some type teams, everyone does.

Jets learned to stop their in division rivals pass-happy offense. Yet, we stomped them into the turf before we went into the turtle for the second half with a huge lead. We just stomped them physically into the ground. So not every defense is perfect.
In my book, you stop a running game and make a team throw underneath all the way down the field. Why? Cause they'll drop passes, they'll throw some picks on deflections, etc. And you'll get some sacks and fumbles.
Running is 'generally' the safer option. But sheet happens. GB gets lucky now of those deflections end up in our arms and Mendy fumbles at a point we were about to take control of the game. Sheet happens. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL.

The Patriots were 20th in the number of pass attempts. That means that over half the league was more pass-happy than the Patriots.

In 2010, the Patriots pass/run ratio was 507/454.

The Steelers pass/run ratio was 479/471.

It looks like the Steelers were more balanced, but those numbers above include the first four games. The Steelers with Roethlisberger as QB are very similar to the Patriots in terms how often they pass vs. how often they run.

numbers lie... against us the Patriots passed about 80% of the time.

I'm not sure what the numbers are vs the Jets but I'm sure they are pass heavy.

The NFL is al about match-ups and until we figure out how to stop these pass happy teams we will continue to struggle against them. Sure we had 3 TO's but they all resulted in TD's. This is a problem. If one of those TO's is held to a FG we probably win.

That's true - in that game, Brady attempted 43 passes. The Patriots only ran the ball 24 times.

Of course, the Steelers attempted 49 passes, and only ran 16 times.

All teams attack the weakness of the other team, and it's much more difficult to build a good pass defense than it is to build a good run defense. So nearly every team is pass-happy these days.

I don't think that's true. You can allocate your money differently and set a much different defense. But if you stop pass first, you may never see a pass against the Steelers, ala Jets game. If you don't HAVE to throw, you don't.

They ran a HUGE risk throwing every down. They were VERY lucky they didn't throw any picks. They were also very lucky we kept giving them the ball.

GB never had a running game. The RB had more yards in the playoffs than in the regular season. I think he ran for 200+ in the playoffs.
