Green Bay - Team Picture-Gate

Is this a bigger deal than anyone realizes?

It tells me that Green Bay doesn't care about it's players.

And why did the IR'd guys have to speak up for themselves on Twitter instead of Aaron Rodgers or Charles Woodson or some team leader speaking on their behalf?

Says to me the team is not as tight a team as the Steelers.

    We are family.

These guys are individuals playing for themselves.

The pic itself isn't the big deal.

It's the crack in the foundation.

And I hope the worldwide media crushes this crack wide open next week.

Another Pittsburgh team already has the rights to this.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

McCarthy calls photo complaints a ‘poor decision’

        http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=A ... -photoflap

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP)—Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy isn’t thrilled with the way a couple of his injured players chose to express their disappointment about potentially being left out of the Super Bowl team photo, saying they made a “poor decision” when they complained about it in public.

Still, the coach says it’s no big deal for the team to take the photo late next week so those players can be included.

“If that’s the biggest issue that we have in our preparation, we are going to have a hell of a week,” McCarthy said Thursday. “So it’s not that big of a deal.”

Earlier this week, linebacker Nick Barnett(notes) and tight end Jermichael Finley(notes) complained on their Twitter accounts that they weren’t going to be in the team photo. The photo typically would be taken at media day next Tuesday, and injured players are not scheduled to join the team in the Dallas area until next Thursday.

McCarthy says cornerback Charles Woodson(notes) and quarterback Aaron Rodgers(notes) brought the issue to his attention. McCarthy then decided to schedule the photo for next Friday instead.

The Packers list 16 players on injured reserve.

“It’s not that they are not part of the team,” McCarthy said. “They are in the photo. You want them in the photo and that’s important.”

McCarthy called the attention paid to the issue this week a “total overreaction,” but says other coaches have advised him to expect such distractions when a team is preparing to play in the Super Bowl.

“We’ll be as organized as we possibly can,” McCarthy said. “Something is going to be screwed up. I’ve been told that by a number of coaches. So you have to be able to let it roll off your back, and somebody else is going to get their feelings hurt. We’re going to continue to make sure that we do everything that’s in the best interests of getting our football team ready to win this game.”

Nick Barnett wishes he kept his mouth shut

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 27, 2011

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday that linebacker Nick Barnett and tight end Jermichael Finley made a “poor decision” by complaining on Twitter about initially not being part of the team’s photo.

          Barnett agrees with the sentiment.

“If I knew the trouble it would have stirred I would have kept my mouth shut!!!” Barnett wrote Thursday after finding out how his coach felt.

McCarthy said that he changed the photo date after talking to his team captains, not because of what Barnett said. It’s worth noting McCarthy seemed more annoyed with his players than the media.

It’s a lesson that more than one NFL team has learned over the last two years: Twitter creates fires that the team often needs to put out.

The Pack isn't allowing the IR guys to join them on the team flight to Dallas. They are making them come separately later in the week to join them.

So yeah, they are a team

Was wondering why the practice squad players aren't in the photo (or are they). They help prepare the team weekly and can be called upon throughout the season to step up if needed.

This is not a big deal. I hate these two weeks. Most of the stories in the media are such crap, low journalism.
