Ed Hoculi can suck it. Overall, fairly clean game, but that 4th and 1 measurement was completely uncalled for. It was clearly obvious we didn't convert on 3rd down, we are trying to run hurry up and catch them off guard, nobody asked for a measurement.

Stupid a$$ refs injecting themselves into the game.

(Not to mention the further inconsistency of possession on a reception. What "special" angle did Hoculi see that we didn't that showed evidence of Heath Miller letting the ball touch the ground, because I saw none!)

Measuring on that 4th down was ridiculous. It was obviously short and those guys are pretty good at determining that type of thing.

I think the ruling on the Heath play was correct. The rule used to be if the ball hit the ground it was ruled incomplete. They changed it to say if you controlled the ball and it hit the ground it is complete. Heath caught the ball and had both hands on the side of the ball when he hit the ground. The ball definitely contacted the ground and it was jarred loose. He ultimately controlled it before it hit the ground but the fact that the ground knocked it loose was why it was ruled incomplete.
As many on this site think ... The Rooney's suck, Colbert sucks, Tomlin sucks, the coaches suck, and the players suck.

        but Go Steelers!!!

But why measure? Who called for it? I thought you couldn't measure after a down has been declared unless you ask for it from the offensive team?

I must've had my steelers goggles on then. I watched very closely and just was certain his hand was under the ball. Either way, that didn't pis me off as much as that measurement. I was heated when that happened.

Agreed on the measurement. The only thing it did was prevent us from a quick snap.

That's 2 weeks in a row where the Steelers were about to run a hurry up play that got stopped for BS reasons - first harbaugh throws a red flag to challenge something that hadn't even been called (the NFL needs to adress that - loss of a TO or 15 yards) and then last night. It was 2 yards and they are calling for a measurment. Not remotely close.

And i'm with Iron Sheik - I watched that play over and over on slow motion and Heath's hand was under the ball. I have no idea what "clear and convincing" evidence he saw to overturn the call on the field that was a catch.
