    The Olde Brigade

Much has been made of the contributions of players like Antonio Brown, Manny Sanders, Mike Wallace, Pouncey, Mendenhall, Woodley & Timmons. And rightly so.

But today, the Steelers beat the Ravens not because of these guys, but because of performances from the Old Boys- James Harrison, James Farrior, Hampton, Keisel, Ryan Clark & Crash's favourite- Hines Ward.

The stats might not tell the full story (well, OK, for Harrison they give SOME indication), but there were key events during the game when each & every one of these guys stood up & said "This is how it's done"- and the result was a magnificent win.

Chadman couldn't stop shaking his head as the commentary rattled on about how Ray Lewis was 'still getting it done' at 35 & yet no mention was made of James Farrior- also 35 & still 'getting it done'.

Interceptions, sacks, QB Pressures, key 3rd down stops & key 3rd down catches- the Vets stood up & showed today why youth is good, but you can't discount experience.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

    Light up the darkness.

Harrison, Hampton, Kiesel, Clark, and Ward - I'm with you on those, Chad - the core is strong!! Though there was a point in the 1st half that in response to a call in the chat room to bench Ward (my Jersey guy!), I foolishly replied that maybe his best contribution to the game would be to get Ed Reed ejected for fighting ... I'm sorry Hines

I'm definitely not a good Xs and Os kind of guy, so I may be way off on the following ... but I was thinking yesterday that Farrior wasn't having a good game ... errors on a few key plays yesterday - over pursue, miss a tackle, etc. He may have had a great game, and I just didn't notice (re: my previous disclaimer), but I did happen to notice him in a negative sense a few times.

Did he overall have good game, does Chad think?
