Manning doesn't really go after records

Of course he does. Was it 2005 when he was throwing TD's in the forth quarter from the 3 yard line up by 20 with 2 minutes left to get the record. He's always been a stat whore.

Seems he's become much smarter from all the strife in his life.

Recent comments show he knows he needs to improve in areas, is willing to get quicker and play smarter and now is willing to "just win rings" instead of continued passing.

All of these are in direct contrast from previous comments where he suggested "he plays like he plays and doesn't want to change."

Either that or he's hired a good publicist.

Either way, props to Ben for finally seeing and getting the end game, playing smarter, staying healthy, staying out of trouble and doing what is best for his team and stacking trophies.

He has to get through the offseason without any sexual assault acquisitions for me to agree completely with you

Yah Ben seems to have the right mentality, I actually think that all the controversy onthe offseason helped him as a man and quarterback in maturing. I definately have a feeling Ben is going to put it together and have his best postseason performance to date.

I think he's had this from day one, really.

Ben has had only one "best ever" stat that he has publicly addressed/yearned for from the beginning of his career......

Ben doesn't need stats, he has rings. Stats are what sportswriters use as a backup for those players who couldn't produce championships.

I really don't see that much of a difference in Ben's game. He still hangs on to the ball and looks to make a big play. He has started to throw it away at times, run at times, and check down at times but I think that is the natural maturity that Ben has gone through every year.

That's what amazes me about the guy. I don't think we have come close to finding the ceiling in his game yet. Every year he gets a little better. He also learns from his experience. His first year in the playoffs he wasn't very good. The next year he was great in the playoffs but the SB he slipped up. The next time he goes to the SB he throws for 400 yards and leads a game winning drive that ranks with Montana's. I think the work with the QB coach during his suspension helped him more than any off season experiences.
