    I have to say...

    ...I am dissapointed in some of my fellow Steelers fans. I've read several incensitive comments, jokes, and inconsiderate remarks about the death of Ed Reed's brother. Regardless of whether he was aluding the police or he had done something wrong, to make jokes about this man loosing his ife is in very poor taste. And I question the character of those doing this. I am sure there are some descent people in the Reed family who are taking this very hard. Human beings who dont deserve to have someone they loved be used as a joke because some football fans dont like the team that his brother plays for.

    Why? I really dont understand this. We all have people in our families who dont always use the best judgment and sometimes do things that are wrong...but is that a reason to stoop to a level that is a little in-humane? Calis and cold? Having no regard for one's life?

    I think God Almighty for the prescious life he has given me. For the lives of those in my family. For those friends I know. For every man, woman, and child that walks on the face of this earth. Any time someone loses their lives for what ever reason it saddens me. But I have to say, it is far more sad to hear some make fun of one's death. And to do so just because of an allegiance of one's favorite football team.

    I've read threads about posters here losing pets they loved very dearly and many fellow posters coming in and adding their condolences and too me that is an awesome thing to care enough to want to help lift another person up. I know that somestimes we say things we dont mean in an effort to be funny or to fit in but that isnt right. I would hope that those who have this would see this themselves and have regret for it.

    And I would also hope that there isnt anymore of this here on this forum. I am asking that it please stop.

      I have no pity for a thug loser.. his family, yeah.. I feel bad for them but for ppl here to come in and say how bad they feel about some STREET TRASH, sickens ME!!! so we should have pity for a criminal?? I'd rather care about someone innocent of crime. It isn't a TRAGEDY, it's straight out STUPIDITY.. and shame on REEDS brother for doing this to his family.. I think most ppl have already moved on from this topic and are thinking about football but now that you mention it again.. One less bum on the street, IMO.

      I wish no harm to anyone but I don't feel bad for a fool.. only those whom HE has hurt

      BTW, when our players do stupid stuff, we call em' out also. ex: Stonio, Skippy, etc.
      I don't care what team they play for. Criminals get no favortism in my book.

          DD - I think what rubbed people the wrong way was how the Ravens used it as a rallying point, completely ignoring the fact that he died trying to avoid the police. Does one feel sympathetic for Ed Reed for losing a family member - absolutely...but he was criminal trying to avoid capture, not a soldier or a cop or firefighter or losing a battle with cancer. You need to look at it with the same perspective you're encouraging other use.
          It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust & sweat & blood...

            I respect where your coming from Dee, honestly.. Ur a positive energy person, thats cool.. If ppl don't make a big deal out of this "LOSS" as something tragic, which it isn't, it's plain STUPIDITY.. a classic case.. pray for me if you want but you are NO ONE to judge if god is in my heart of not, only god can judge. I have my own relationship with god, and my relationship consists of not being a thug loser, to please my god. But rather not harming others and just living my life and watching football among other harmless activites.

              Exactly, not just the Ravens ignoring the fact but ppl on this board also.. Acting like this guy was Johnny Do Gooder when he was THUG, that put policeman and other innocents in danger with them trying to capture him.. Thousands die everyday, and I could care less about a criminal. I'd rather feel or pray for some kid from St. Judas dying of brain cancer.. Not some, cancer of society..

                People run even if they are innocent. The law says we are all innocent until proven guilty but he reality is you are innocent depending on your previous record or if you can afford adequate representation. I agree with DD. We should not judge this situation. Let the Ravens find whatever motivation they want. Bottom line is the Steelers will do whatever they do regardless. Football is all about imposing one teams will on another. If the Ravens think God is going to feel sorry for them and give them the win then let them....a reality check is coming and it's wearing Black and Gold. May Ed Reeds brother be found safe and sound. Every man has redeeming qualities.

                  I hate the Ravens!!!!

                  But I F'in respect Reed, Lewis, Ngata,Suggs, etc.

                  "To gain it...You have to give it." Words to live by in football. You teach that to the youngsters and they take that with them. Makes the game what it is.


                  "Whatever" happened to Reed's Brother...Thoughts & prayers to him and his family. The burden for a loss of a loved one never should be discounted. Whatever wrongdoing that Reed's brother did does not fall on him.

                    Just don't read them.

                      It's funny how people are rushing to judgment about Reed's brother, being a thug because he was running from the police, and not privy to any real solid proof of what was going on. But then these same people were cruciying every sports columnist, fan, or sports reporter for judging Ben for being guilty as charge before any proof came out. It was all about, Ben was'nt charged with anything. Well what was Reed's brother charges with?

                      You people are bunch if hipocrits, racists, and just plan ignorant. For all of you have family members, who have or may have had a family member killed, or injured in some sort of way similar to Reed's brother. Let's all hope that you treat that person with the same disdain and disrepect that you are treating Reed's bother.

                        How in the hell does race enter this equation? The guy, who wasn't a good swimmer, jumped into the F'in river to avoid being captured by the police.                           Because calling people racists is a good way to end the argument. If you choose to pursue it, in their eyes, you look even worse. Remember, always be the first to drop the race card. He can compare Ben's situation and Ed Reed's brother's situation all he wants, but they are not the same. Must be because of race though.

                            How dare anyone judge someone who jumped in a river running from cops !!! I love that argument. "you don't know the real story !!!" - here's something I can be pretty sure of - any adult running from the police, for any circumstance , is probably not a great citizen.I don't know the particulars of the case but I'll assume he's guilty of something.

                            The misplaced morals being thrown around here is downright pathetic.I do feel sad for Ed Reed and his family , he's going through a horrible time.But does anyone here get this upset when it's just another nameless person on the news who doesn't have a celebrity brother ? Of course not.

                            There is real tragedy in the world . Some bottom feeder thug who stole a car then drowned himself isn't one of them. It just means less petty crime in the world.
