    What about going no huddle...

....to start the game. Say, the 1st 20 plays, scripted and use it to start the 3rd. The Rats were starting to tire in the 3rd and 4th yesterday. The will have one less day of rest on Sat. and not letting them sub will help tire them in the 4th. You know this game will most likely come down to the last few minutes. Any chance of using the no huddle or does anyone else like this idea?

    I do, !

I think everyone in Steeler nation/Planet does too ... with the POSSIBLE exception of Bad Always.

And ... what does Tomlin think about it?

I think that would be great. Really force the tempo early with a short passing game. Let's run that defense ragged. Gotta do something to get them off balance. If we start the game trying to force the run against them we will be doing them a favor. Tire them down and watch them fade in the second half.

I don't know about starting no huddle, but I would most certainly use it at least once a quarter.

I like the idea, it is a way to throw something different at them while using something that has worked for us in the past.

And, as the BA haters know, Ben calls all the plays in the no huddle so they will all love this idea.

              All except the scripted part.

No script from BA-hole. Let me send him a quick note:

              "Dear BA-hole,

Please go no-huddle, no script to start the game against the Ravens.

              Your boy,
              Flippy"

I said scripted because I know if we were to go no huddle to begin the game that is the only way Bruce would do it. His ego is the only thing that exceeds his ignorance.

I think it's best to save the no huddle for when they feel they need to go no huddle.

I think the no huddle works best when the other team isn't expecting it and has started to suck wind.

The only time a team feels they need to go no huddle is when they're losing...hopefully we wont be in that situation.

We force the tempo with the no-huddle, make it difficult for them to sub in players on D, make them run sideline-to-sideline and deep, and that heavy old D will exhaust themselves.

What makes you think they were getting tired, the D was only on the field for 18:16 the whole game

Suggs, for one, was breathing out of his mouth hard and they were slowing down compared to the 1st half, although the Chiefs looked worse in the 2nd. Which that goes to Todd Haley for stripping the play calling duties from Weiss.
