Re: If.....
Sanchez plays very poorly in cold weather. He's had maybe 1 good cold weather game, the wild card game against Cinci last year. The big worry in this game, IMO, will be keeping Ben healthy.Comment

Re: If.....
The Jets will be coming in really hungry. They are now fighting for their playoff lives. Hopefully Mr. Sanchez will have many frolics w/ Messers Harrison and Woodley.
IDK if it's just me but we seem to be getting more injured. Our top O and D players (Ben and Troy) are gimpy and seem to have a hard time walking. Somehow they manage to keep playing but I'm not sure how long that can possibly continue.
If... we win against the Jets, would it be a good idea to start Lefty against Carolina so Ben can rest?Comment

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Jets can forget about division crown as offensive slump continues
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on December 12, 2010, 7:55 PM EST
There was no late game magic for the Jets this time.
Instead, there were constant dropped passes, misfired throws, and poor communication from the entire Jets passing game in a 10-6 l0ss to the Dolphins. Mark Sanchez completed just 17-of-44 passes for 216 yards and an interception in the loss. He fumbled four times, losing one.
All week, we heard that New York’s 45-3 loss to the Patriots wouldn’t carry over. But New York’s mediocre play has carried over for most of the last two months since the team peaked in a three-game rampage through the AFC East in Weeks 2-4.
The Jets haven’t scored an offensive touchdown in nine quarters. Sanchez is struggling, but a sluggish running game isn’t helping.
It’s a shame, because the offensive crapitude spoiled an outstanding defensive effort. Chad Henne only threw for 55 yards and the Dolphins only had 131 yards for the game.
New York (9-4) is basically out of the AFC East race. (Down two with three to play to New England.) They need to steady things in a hurry with road games in Pittsburgh and Chicago coming up. New York is still in great shape for a wild card, but they still have to start worrying about 7-6 teams like the Chargers and Dolphins.
Yes, the Dolphins are still alive. With home games against the Bills and Lions the next two weeks, it’s not that hard to imagine a 9-6 Dolphins playing a meaningful game in Week Seventeen.
Unfortunately for the Dolphins, that game is in New England.

Re: If.....
the steelers are well aware of the stakes this week.
beat the jets. it puts RR one step closer to actually missing the playoffs. It keeps us in the drivers seat towards a bye week. It means we can take care of the panthers and in all likelihood render the game against the browns meaningless.
lose next week and the jets stay alive, the rats have hope and we could end up having to play 3 games before the superbowl. It's another big game for sure.2014 MNF EXEC CHAMPION!!!Comment
