Re: What was Troy thinking
IMHO the team thing to do was to kneel down in the EZ where he caught it. That would have given us the ball on the 20 with under two minutes and a three score lead. Kneeling avoids the risk of injury to Troy and anybody who might block for him as well as a possible fumble. (if he caught it out of the EZ, he should get out of the EZ run to daylight and get down at the first sign of trouble.) We could have knelt down to win the game. The lateral was just insanity. We didn't need to score, we needed ball security and time off the clock. However much we might thrill to seeing Mr. Head and Shoulders run with the rock, we have to play smart football. We have to focus on winning, and I think that's what Bad Word told him.Originally posted by eniparadoxgmaMe too man, bum knee and all.Originally posted by TD386SteelNot me I said "Run Troy Run" I wanted him to return it for a touchdown.

Re: What was Troy thinking
Who cares. Troy can do whatever he wants.
Still, I think they really had the scoring mentality today, especially since the O sucked, and I bet the D was sitting on the sideline talking about the need to score. So I think Troy wanted to do something more with the ball.Comment

Re: What was Troy thinking
I disagree. IMHO the risks of injury (to an already hobbled Troy or a teammate) and loss of possession far outweigh "having fun." I think Badword agrees with me, but each is entitled to his opinion.Originally posted by aggiebonesWe were up by 3 scores with 2 minutes left.

Re: What was Troy thinking
Case closed...
On his second interception in the fourth quarter, Troy Polamalu seemed more interested in lateraling the ball to a teammate than running with it. After intercepting Carson Palmer at the goal line, Polamalu ran 12 yards and wildly tossed the ball to CB Bryant McFadden, who recovered the errant toss. Polamalu was laughing as he came off the field, but was confronted by coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator bad word LeBeau. Later, Polamalu was near tears as he apologized for his decision.

Best part is last few seconds with LeBeau going nuts
