    Tomlin New Conference...Updates

Mike Tomlin updated the status of several of the injured Steelers during his weekly news conference on Tuesday. Here’s a recap:

Tomlin said he didn’t expect QB Ben Roethlisberger to miss any football time following surgery to repair a broken nose. Roethlisberger will wear a clear shield on his facemask to help with protection, according to Tomlin.

Heath Miller, who suffered a concussion against the Ravens, is probably doubtful to play this week. Tomlin said he had yet to speak with Miller, but the tight end is feeling the effects of post-concussion syndrome and the organization will err on the side of caution.

Tomlin described OT Flozell Adams’ injury as a “mild high ankle sprain” and said his status will be determined later in the week. Trai Essex, who replaced Adams against the Ravens, would be first up to start in his place at right tackle.

Jeremy Kapinos was signed to take over punting duties for Daniel Sepulveda, who tore the ACL in his right knee.

Aaron Smith continues to make progress in his recovery from a torn triceps. Tomlin said Smith recently had an MRI exam and has started lifting weights, and indicated he’ll have another exam in a couple of weeks.

Wow, think of the changes just on ST's this year. We started the year with Reed, Sepulveda and ARE. We'll end the year with Suisham, Kapinos and Brown/Sanders.

Also, think of the changes to the o-line:

        Coming into training camp: Starks-Kemoeatu-Hartwig-Essex-Colon

At this point of the season: Scott-Kemoeatu-Pouncey-Foster-Adams (or Essex at RT if his Hotel's ankle sprain is too severe to allow him to play this week)
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I have no idea what a "mild" high ankle sprain is, but I hope it's the kind you can come back from in time for the playoffs!
