McClain to be fined

NFL reviewing Ravens LB McClain's hit on Steelers TE Miller

The NFL confirmed Monday that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McCalin's hit on Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller Sunday night is under review.

The league said McClain will be fined for the hit that left Miller with a concussion in the third quarter of the Steelers' 13-10 overtime win over the Ravens.

Miller's head and neck were was bent backwards by the impact of the hit. As he initially laid motionless on the field, trainers rushed to his side and held his helmet in place, typical for neck injuries.

Miller remained on the turf for several minutes before he was helped off by trainers. He did not return.

McClain wasn’t called for a personal foul on the play.

Miller had one catch for nine yards prior to exiting the game.

Re: McClain to be fined

No mention of our QB taking a Ngata paw to his face? If that isn't fined, something is wrong. He is a repeat offender. And yes, if this did happen to Brady or Flacco for that matter, there would be fines....

http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ ... s_not.html

Ngata receives fine from NFL, Suggs does not
Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata said he was fined by the NFL for his hit on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Ngata’s arm struck the helmet of Brady, drawing a 15-yard roughing-the-passer penalty.

Ngata wouldn’t say the amount of the fine. New England’s Mike Wright received a $5,000 fine for making contact with Joe Flacco’s facemask last Sunday.

Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs said he didn’t receive fine from the NFL. His shoulder grazed the knee of Brady, which drew a questionable roughing-the-passer penalty.

UPDATE: Ngata said he had no plans to appeal the fine. "I did touch him in the head, so there's nothing i can really do about it," Ngata said.

How can that be?

Did anyone catch the interview with Harbaugh before the game where he 100% supported the fines on James Harrison and went to lengths to say that his players all hit cleanly, etc. He must be studying at the Goodell University of Hypocritical thinking.

I honestly wouldn't have had any problem with anything that happened in that game last night if we hadn't gotten all these bull-**** calls the past few weeks. I did not see anything dirty or intentional in the Miller hit, the Ben nose break, or the Suggs helmet grab honestly. It was just hard football. But how is Harrison flagged/fined for the exact same thing? I just don't get it.

Yes it sucks horse balls http://www.horseballs.com

According to the pattern established, Ngata and McClain should both be fined...and Suggs should have had a personal foul called on him.

Re: McClain to be fined

I reported the Steelers fines on the Planet Steelers home page.

It's 40k for McClain and 15K for Ngata.

Saw the interview. Harbaugh is a doosh. Plain and simple. Hypocritical doosh bag. I have a ton more respect for Ray Ray than I do for him.

The real putz here is Goodell. His "ship" of the NFL is going off course. He needs to right this ship.

He is a disaster.
