    Peter King likes Steelers

You don't want to bet against the Steelers.

Troy Polamalu was the last Steeler left in the shower early this morning, and Mike Tomlin was feeling frisky. "Hey, Troy!" Tomlin yelled into the shower, according to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times. "You in there washing your hair? Take your time! I ain't leaving you, baby!" Polamalu's strip-sack of Joe Flacco with less than four minutes to play was -- is -- the play of the season for Pittsburgh. It led to the Steelers' only touchdown of the game, with three minutes left at Baltimore. It was no Mazeroski beating the Yankees with a homer in the ninth inning of a Game 7, but it was big because of the spoils. The win left the Steelers in terrific shape to grab one of the two AFC byes in the playoffs -- and to be at home for their first playoff game. Pittsburgh (9-3) now leads the Ravens (8-4) with a decided advantage in the schedule. Comparing the Ravens and the Steelers down the stretch:

    Pittsburgh
    9-3 overall, 3-1 AFC North, 7-2 AFC

    Week 14 Cincinnati (2-10)
Week 15 New York Jets (9-2)
    Week 16 Carolina (1-11)
    Week 17 at Cleveland (5-7)

    Baltimore
    8-4 overall, 2-2 AFC North, 6-3 AFC

    Week 14 at Houston (5-7)
    Week 15 New Orleans (9-3)
    Week 16 at Cleveland (5-7)
    Week 17 Cincinnati (2-10)

Hard to imagine the Steelers blowing it. Winning at Cleveland won't be easy -- for either team. But the Steelers have two relatively easy ones to Baltimore's one, and the Steelers have three of four at home while Baltimore is two home and two there.

Our upcoming games gainst the Bumgals and Jets are going to be tough games. If we look past the Bumgals we are in real trouble. Need to get to Palmer and hit him. Neither of these games will be easy especially with us being a several men down on the offensive side of the ball.

Being the very last game I'm less concerned about Cleveland. Yes beating us would make their season but those guys are going to have their cars packed and getting warm in the paking lot. They won't be too interested.

Last week, didn't he predict the Steelers not making the playoffs or was that another dope from SI?

King predicted that we would win the Super Bowl before the start of the season.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

This team is never as good or bad as it appears. They are some tuff SOB's though.

That said, the Bengals will be a mighty challenge with their receiving corps. It's the most important game of the rest of the regular season, IMO. Hopefully the Steelers aren't too banged up to do what they need to.
