Was he on the field? Did we game plan so that he wasn't effective? Didn't hear his name called once.

Re: Where was Ed Reed?
Only threw the ball deep 2 or 3 times. Reed isn't Polamalu, he's a ball hawk, not a underweight linebacker. :POriginally posted by SanAntonioSteelerFanWas he on the field? Did we game plan so that he wasn't effective? Didn't hear his name called once.

Re: Where was Ed Reed?
The only two times I heard his name mentioned at all:
He was the defender who flew over Brown after his catch inside the 10, and apparently touched him as he went past, making it illegal for Brown to get up and advance the ball. Still couldn't see it on replay.
He was the returner on the punt downed inside the 5 that was then a do-over because of the penalty on Lewis. On the do-over they replaced him with their other returner Webb.
As it turns out that penalty helped the Steelers. I'm thinking with the ball at the 5 the Ratbirds would have been much more conservative and run the ball, trying to eat up clock with a 10-6 lead. They definitely wouldn't have Flacco dropped back and in position to get sack-stripped by Troy. With the ball at the 28 instead, they went right to the air on 2nd down.Comment

Re: Where was Ed Reed?
Maybe part of Arians' game plan was to neutralize one of the league's greatest defensive weapons.....
Good work Bruce!!
Note: This post is not intended to show support of our OC. It is intended to rile up the vocal anti-Arians faction.
