It's getting to the point that Steelers free agents may leave just to escape the reputation of our "rough play".

If he wants to keep his fan base he will. This is nearing critical mass.

Goodell is the worst thing the NFL has had go on for a long time.

Goodell is single handedly ruining the NFL. What a joke.

Looks like one Patriot got caught up in the dragnet for a measley $5k. Not only was the Ward hit on his head and neck area, it caused him to bobble the pass on his way to the ground so he lost the reception/first down ON REVIEW! BTW, it also caused a neck injury.

NFL fines Woodley, Stewart and others

The NFL handed out multiple fines on Friday for infractions from games in Week 10, led by Titans tackle David Stewart.

Stewart was fined $20,000 for a late hit against the Dolphins in Week 10.

Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley earned a $12,500 fine for a roughing the passer hit against the New England Patriots. There was no fine assessed in that game for a hit that knocked Steelers receiver Hines Ward out of the game.

Bucs safety Cody Grimm was fined $7,500 unnecessary roughness when he hit a defenseless receiver in the head and neck area, according to NFL Network.

Patriots running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis was fined $5,000 for a chop block against the Steelers, according to the Boston Herald.

Anyone have a link to the Ward hit. I want to see it, just so that my head explodes since there was no fine. How can this selective enforcement/non-enforcement even pretend to be justified?

Even more fuel to the fire. This illegal hit broke his streak!! He had the catch but the helmet hit made him bobble it. Remember Hines wobbling off the field? I remember clearly...looking for the video...

I THOUGHT THE NFL WAS GETTING AGGRESSIVE WITH HELMET HITS TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CONCUSSIONS!!!

                            http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/11/14/hine ... eturn-que/

Wide receiver Hines Ward suffered a concussion on a hard hit with Patriots safety Patrick Chung late in the first quarter of New England's 39-26 Sunday night win. Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed the news in his postgame press conference. The Steelers had initially announced that Ward had a neck injury.

With 14 seconds left in the first quarter, Ward and Chung appeared to collide helmet-to-helmet as Ward attempted to haul in a 5-yard catch. Ward was initially given the reception, but the play was challenged by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and reversed to an incompletion. Ward walked off the field with the help of the Steelers' training staff and did not return -- the overturned play left Ward without a catch on the night, breaking his streak of 186 consecutive games with a reception.

"He will go through his normal battery of tests after sustaining a concussion," Tomlin said regarding Ward's status for the Steelers' Week 11 matchup with Oakland. "We'll see where we are in terms of next week."

Ward led the Steelers in receptions heading into Sunday night with 30.
