NFL Lockout Petition

Hey all, I'm here from the NFL Players Association and I'm sure most of you have the same opinion as we do, that we MUST have an NFL football season next year. If you would like to have your voice heard, please take a moment and sign the petition over at NFLLockout.com. Once we have enough signatures we will be sending out this letter to the NFL Commissioner and the NFL Owners that explains just how much is at stake.

    Re: NFL Lockout Petition

With what Emperor Goodell is doing to ruin the game, and with all the greed (there's plenty on the part of both owners and players, IMO), I don't know if being down for a year would be such a bad thing. Life would go on, and we might find that NFL football is not as irreplacable as we've been led to believe.

here is an online petition to remove Roger Goodell...

      http://www.petitiononline.com/RemoveRG/petition.html

To: Roger Goodell & NFL Owners

Roger Goodell ("Goodell") should resign as Commissioner of the National Football League. Goodell has unilateral authority to make or change the rules of the game, implement fines upon the players, and make other decisions as he so desires. Goodell has implemented fines and punishments upon players for what he deems to be illegal hits during games and in passing out these fines and punishments has threatened the traditional way the game is played. Furthermore, Goodell intends to extend the season to 18 games further risking the health of players. Goodell has too much power and lacks the experience and knowledge of the game of football from a player's perspective, and, therefore, is unqualified to hold the office of Commissioner of the NFL. Roger Goodell should resign and the NFL should be governed by a committee of current and former players and owners of teams of the National Football League.

      Sincerely,

      The Undersigned

At the very least, if it is necessary to control the 'violence' due to impending federal involvement, then I would like to see a committee of responsible players, NFL management head the 'fine squad'. At least we will get the players views on each week's hits and whether they were egregious or not. Goodell is losing credibility with fans and players at an alarming rate.

Yea, I gotta say, lock 'em out.

The owners OWN, thus they get the bulk of the money. They need to fix some salary issues, namely rookie numbers. The only thing I'd support for the players is some health related items mostly for veterans. I'm also not happy about adding 2 more games to weaken the schedules and the value of football. Injuries are already rampant.

The players aren't asking for more money.

If you check out this section of the NFLLockout.com it gives a nice simple breakdown of what the potential lockout is about. As some of you had mentioned a big focus for the players is not money, but healthcare.

Excuse me for not feeling too sorry for a bunch of rich guys who want paid health care. Nobody's buying any for me, and I make probably one-tenth of what the NFL's least-paid players make per year. And don't get me started on Obamacare, which will ruin the health-care system and add to the tremendous debt our children are being saddled with.

Can they lockout midseason? Please. I can't take the torture of watching this team.
