Harrison Speaks ... then Harrison Fined :-(

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2010/11 ... ml?_r=1&hp

After reading his comments about spending Dictator Goodell's oh-so-precious time and calling it only "semi-productive", I have to say I'm not surprised.

I fully support NFLPA action/revolution.

And I expect Polamalu to be fined for "insurgency and actions inconsistent with the goals of the league", or some such Maoist-inspired infraction.

Steelers' Harrison Fined $20,000 for Hit on Brees

Filed at 12:59 p.m. ET

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Steelers linebacker James Harrison has been fined $20,000 for a late hit on Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Harrison has now been fined three times by the NFL this season for a total of $100,000. The hit on Brees came in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints.

He was previously fined $75,000 for his helmet hit Oct. 17 on Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi, a penalty handed out during the week the NFL adopted its tougher stance on hits to the head and neck.

Harrison also was fined $5,000 for a hard hit on Titans quarterback Vince Young on Sept. 19.

The latest fine was given to Harrison two days after he met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss the NFL's stricter policy. Afterward, Harrison termed Tuesday's meeting "semi-productive."

Outrageous.

No Vikes fan here, but ...
Where was Goodell when the Saints pounded on Farve with late hits several times in the NFCChampionship last year? Where has there been any consistency?

Pryor fined $7,500 for hit on Favre

NEW YORK (AP) -- The NFL has fined two New England Patriots for hits on Brett Favre.

Defensive tackle Myron Pryor has been docked $7,500 for his hit that cut the Minnesota quarterback's chin. Favre left the Vikings' loss midway through the fourth quarter Sunday and needed 10 stitches in his chin.

Pryor was not penalized on the play, in which his helmet got under Favre's facemask and cut Favre's chin.

Patriots linebacker Gary Guyton was fined $7,500 for roughing the passer when he unnecessarily struck Favre in the head and neck area earlier in the game.

The league has cracked down on illegal hits and has promised suspensions for hits to the head or neck area of defenseless players.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Yea, the NFL is worried about the health of the players, gold gloves and not buckling your chinstrap gets you 20K, but roughing the passer and unnecesary roughness only gets you 10K.

Goodell is such a Cleveland Brown.
