Re: Was the 4 Game Suspension a Blessing?

Before the start of the season, I predicted that Ben would have a top 10 season in terms of passing yardage in Steeler history, even though he missed the first month of the season (right now, the 10th most single-season passing yards in Steeler history was 3020 by Kordell in 1997). I also predicted at least 20 TD passes for him and single digit interceptions. Right now, two games into his season, he has 559 yards, 5 TD's, and 1 INT's. Project that out over 12 games, and it is 3354 yards, 30 TD's, and 6 INT's.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I said during the off season when No Goodell had his pissy fit, that all that would happen is that a well rested Ben, who has something to prove to himself and the rest of the world, will be back with a vengence.

I only see the suspension as a good thing, IF Ben maintains what he is doing for the rest of his career then the suspension will have been a blessing. He's still being a good boy after he got in trouble. But will he continue to do the same thing when the heat isn't on him?

If we hadn't won at all in his absence, or only had one win I think people, if they're honest, would be changing their collective tunes.

Like Crash said, Ben looks the same as 2009 but lighter. And suspending a guy who was never charged with anything, along with the ensuing media witch hunt, is not a blessing for anyone.

But the moral high-grounders (and haters) will never admit that. Ever....
