Ok…no takers? I’ll throw my hat in there. Here’s my early, early, early Steelers mock draft.

    1-Ras-I Dowling CB Virginia
    2-Stefan Wisniewski OG Penn State
    3-Jerrell Powe NT Ole Miss

At 32nd pick i doubt Steelers will look for OG.

      My picks at 32 are

Aaron Williams : Texas CB or Ras-I Dowling CB Virginia
      Jonathan Baldwin : Pitt WR

Powe looked pretty ordinary in the game i saw..again i did not see him throughout an entire game though..

Pouncey could very well last until Round 3. He is not having a good season.

Bigger needs in Round 1 and 2 like OT, NT or CB.

He's a gap plugger. He isnt going to light up the stat sheet and make big plays. He is a Casey Hampton type.

If he is Casey Hampton i would not mind taking him at 32 at all but i have read on other sites that he has lost weight this year and struggled to take on double teams.

Infact 2011 looks like a weak draft for NT

I'm very much a taker. I really like Mike Pouncey just not at center. Can you imagine the communication that would go on between twin brothers playing side by side. You can't put a price tag on that kind of thing. Talk about chemistry.

Mike is a phenomenal guard. Moving him to Center has cost the Gators. I'd take him at 32. he won't last past the first 10 picks of the second round. we will look at NT sometime in the 2nd, since IMO there isn't a guy that we will like at 32...

if Mike Pouncey is still there when we pick at #64 in Round 2 then it's a non-brainer...you take him.

At this (quite early) point, I'm leaning toward Pouncey in the first and Powe in the second.

If we didn't continue with my preferred big ugly theme, then I wouldn't be opposed to other suggestions folks have made such as Williams, Dowling, and Baldwin.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

One of the things that has been very difficult for me to understand is why/how we have not drafted a legitimate replacement for Hampton yet. The F.O. must be waiting for a prime 1st round type candidate (like Casey was back in the day), seeings how it's such a key position. I just can't imagine us leaving the first two rounds without a NT. Having said that, I believe someone like Jerrell Powe will still be there at 2:32. So I would guess OL or CB in round one.

Oviedo, Ruthless, and I, have been calling for a top left tackle prospect for about 3 years now. I was surprised we passed up on Bulaga (although it appears Pouncey was an excellent choice) and I think this next year will be a good draft to snag one because so much of the 1st round emphasis will be on QB's, DE's, and CB's but we'll see how guys like Castonzo, Camri, and Franklin grade out by year's end. Again, I'm not saying we reach, but there looks to be very good value at LT late in the first round. I wouldn't hate an OG at 1:32 but he better be pro-bowl material.

CB is so tricky because aside from your Champ Bailey's and Darrell Revis', the second tier prospects are really hard to judge. It depends so much on what type of defense they're asked to play. If all LeBeau wants is someone to keep the ball in front of them and tackle after the catch/run support, we've got a few of those guys on the roster already. Also, re-signing Ike (or not) will play heavily into that. I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many good corners because the top teams these days often like to go 4-5 wide. You must have guys who can bat down balls in key situations when they know it's coming, and we don't have too many of those. Plus can help on special teams and could play FS in a pinch. I'd feel good about Dowling at 1:32.

unless we can get a J. Jenkins, i don't think we go CB in the first 3 rounds. it seems we like Butler.. we still have Lewis and BMac is back, so i think maybe we go after one in the 4th...
we DO need a RG, NT and possibly a DE...
also, I'll bet if we had both pouncey's... signing them to long term deals would be easy.

at 32 we should really take a look at this guy.....about 15 more #'s and he would make an awesome 3-4 NT

If you havent seen Ras-I Dowling then you are missing out on the perfect 3-4 CB. Here take a look. He's Antonio Cromartie but physical. Long and strong and he goes up and gets the ball.

For the record I would be totally stoked taking Pouncey with tis pick....he stinks as a center but can be a dominate guard!
