Esiason; Steelers have 2 of the top 5 defensive players

But we all knew that already. And I'll tell you one thing...DeMarcus Ware is overrated. Watch a game he plays and count how many times he drops in coverage. Not very many. He is a one dimensional player. Let James Harrison and LaMarr Woodley do that and no one would be near them in sacks.

Uh...Dub...Esiason only had us down for Harrison (at #3) and Polamalu (#1). That makes 2, provided my calculations are correct.

I'm not sure if Timmons can be justifiably placed there yet, but he's well on his way.

Hard to disagree with that list until you get down to #5. Ray had a great career, but Patrick Willis passed out Lewis as the most dominant inside backer in the game some time ago (Timmons may be on his way into the discussion in the future if he keeps things up, though, because he has the ability to be a sack machine and a coverage machine in addition to being a tackling machine). Lewis is the leader of that Baltimore defense, but he's not even close to being even the best player on the Raven D...that undoubtedly goes to Haloti Ngata...that dude is an absolute monster.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Patrick Willis has really had a down year by his standards.

BTW...any top 5 list that doesn't include LaRon Landry is weak. He is clearly one of the leagues best defensive players.
