Did 93.7 have a real source, or were they relying on the PFT article which, apparently, relied on a writer with a less than stellar reputation for accuracy?

I'll be incredibly upset if this happens, but it wouldn't surprise me. I could see Goodell being po'd that everybody assumed that the suspension would be reduced to 4 games, and reducing it to 5 games as a power play.

If he really reduces it only to 5, then he loses all credibility. Doing all that was expected, and more, doesn't reduce it to 4 games, as was contemplated? Outrageous.
