    Coaches are Full of It

...maybe it's the front office, but anyway...

    Leftwich over Dixon, eh?
    Lewis over McFadden, eh?
Randel El and Foote can still play? Better than the young guys, eh?
Pouncey "has" to start out at backup guard- at least they're hinting at coming around on that one.

The more they premeditate who starts without competition and before preseason even begins the more ridiculous it gets. The Dixon thing is the worst, they've simply decided he doesn't play with the first team no matter how much he outplays everybody. They'll downplay him in press conference and up-spin who they want. I think I'm paranoid because of the Pittsburgh Pirates but I see these new investors and it looks like it's all about the cheap second contract, and not letting certain guys getting too good too soon. Somebody tell me I'm wrong because I want to be wrong about this but that's what I smell right now. And I think we lose Dixon at the end of the season.

Moves coaches make are often unpopular with some fans. They know more about the players then any fans. They choose to start certain players and make decisions for reasons unknown to fans.

It's the new investors instead of the Rooneys being cheap? When will this type of thinking end? Forget using logic and looking at the Steeler's payroll. Appears to me the organization spends a lot of money on players.

Exactly how will the Steelers lose Dixon at the end of the season? I don't believe he can become an UFA. In any event, losing Dixon won't be the end of the world for the Steelers.

Stallion, it sounds like you've been spending too much time on Florio's site.

Did you even watch the game last night? Or were you in your little dream land the whole time?

I don't agree with anything said by the opp.

Straight athletism doesn't trump veteran knowledge, especially when you already have a good blend.

They KNOW that Dixon doesn't have command of the offense yet and that when the real games begin, defenses will open up a can on his arse. Leftwich can't do everything, but he knows what's coming. He will lead them better in the short term.

But you never know maybe Dixon turns a corner soon and starts 1 preseason late.
Maybe Lefty falter early in the season and Dixon gets a game. Noone knows for sure where we are going yet.

He's not going anywhere due to the CBA (or lack thereof).
