I like the fact that he has another angle to pose to the defense, but it looks like he could have hung in there for a pass play on those two runs. I know the first one had defensive PI, which probably ruined the play, but I hope he doesn't just cultivate the run instinct.

I find myself keep saying, "he's a rookie, he'll learn". But of course, he's not!

I have no problem with the tuck and run if it moves the chains. I would like to see him throw more but I'll take a 1st down and 3 more chances.Originally posted by SanAntonioSteelerFanI find myself keep saying, "he's a rookie, he'll learn". But of course, he's not!
I like his mobility. He won't take a lot of sacks and our OL looks ehhh this game, IMO.Steelers 27

Re: Dixon
He runs like Ben, but doesn't keep his eyes upfield. He had a wide open guy 15 yards downfield on his last run out of bounds.

Re: Dixon
If he can run that waggle like he did to Battle then that is about as effective as we can hope. That was a beautiful play.Comment

Re: Dixon
Unfortunately, Dizz, if he takes off and runs as often as he did in this game he won't make it through an NFL season in one piece. And, in the end, you have to be able to make plays from the pocket. It's nice to have the ability to make something happen when a play breaks down, etc., but, in the end you need to be able to make first downs via the pass in the NFL.Originally posted by feltdizzI have no problem with the tuck and run if it moves the chains. True, but we don't need him to last through an NFL season, only 4-6 games.Originally posted by papillonUnfortunately, Dizz, if he takes off and runs as often as he did in this game he won't make it through an NFL season in one piece. Re: Dixon
I hope he runs, runs, then runs some more. Then when the D has to account for his running ability on every play he rolls out and hits em deep. When Kordell stopped using his feet that's when he lost his way at QB. There was a season I thought Kordell might develop into the real deal. But, as soon as you try to turn a running QB into a pocket passer you will have problems.Originally posted by DjfanI like the fact that he has another angle to pose to the defense, but it looks like he could have hung in there for a pass play on those two runs. Re: Dixon
Kordell hardly ever used his feet. He only used them when it was by DESIGN.
That's not the same as improvising, using your feet to get out of trouble.
I do find it hilarious how DD is being praised for running around against UPS drivers.
When Ben does it it's "sand lot" play and he can't read defenses.Comment
