I was right and you guys were wrong. congrats to you tomlin fans, you reached your goal once again with that .500 season. what coach are you going to blame for this season? boy that ‘khan man’ sure worked his magic that A draft class sure showed up. wow, this message board sure has gone in the crapper. what do you have left? dozen guys ? i guess that’s what happens when you ban people for not kissing tomlins ass. i’ll be back tomorrow with more insight. once again, congrats on your successful steeler season. good thing the rest of the division didn’t have their qb for the majority of the season or you wouldn’t have reached your goal of .500

I think most of the Tomlin fanboys have fled from this site. But otherwise, you're right about what you wrote in the above post. Another putrid finish to another mediocre season. Tomlin's all about, not only the consecutive non-losing season record, but also the all-time playoff loss streak. And little hope of change anytime soon. -
The Tomlin supporters are quite as church mice pissing on cotton. How many more playoff losses will it take for them to admit he needs to go? Fans at the game chanting for his firing again as well. Tomlin insisted on getting washed up Rodgers ; Tomlin is the root cause of a lot of Steeler problems. Not all of them but a lot of them.Comment

Here we go again… same story, different year. Another Tomlin playoff loss and another blowout. The offense looked atrocious — predictable, zero creativity, no gadget plays, no misdirection, nothing to even make a defense hesitate. Outside of ONE gadget play on 3rd down early on (which actually worked), there was nothing else creative all game. It’s like every team knows exactly what's coming before the snap. We get outcoached every single time and nothing changes. This also starts with ownership. The ownership has to care past a “winning record,” which at this point I think is laughable. A “winning record” should mean making the playoffs AND winning at least the first playoff game. Too many teams finish with winning records in today’s NFL. Where they get that standard is wrong, in my opinion. You have to make it through the first round of the playoffs and actually WIN for it to be considered a winning season. The Rooney has to care, and if they don’t care, they should sell the team. After the owner comes the head coach. Sure, a player can have a bad play or make a mistake, but it ALWAYS starts with the head coach. Practices, morale in the locker room, preparation, game planning, schemes — there are so many things that affect a game before it even starts. The players have to want to be there, or they’ll play like they already know the outcome with this coach. I’ve been saying this for about 7 years now: we are NOT winning another playoff game until Tomlin and this coaching staff are gone. The philosophy is stale, the scheme is stale, and the results are stale. Art Smith and the rest of the offensive staff are not the answer either. This entire coaching setup needs to change next year. And yes, Tomlin has been here too long. He inherited Cowher’s team. He has never built anything with his OWN players. He has no roots — no coaching tree. There is no assistant coach or coordinator who came up under Tomlin and went on to do anything great. Meanwhile, other franchises have coaching trees, coaching branches, coordinators moving up, etc. Tomlin is basically one of the only coaches without that. Anyone who came in after Cowher would’ve won that Super Bowl — he had Cowher’s defensive coach, Cowher’s offensive coach, and the players were all already there. Tomlin inherited that roster. I will never change my mindset on that. What makes it worse is that we actually had early chances. We got turnovers and did absolutely nothing with them. No points, no momentum, no killer instinct. Then we let Houston embarrass us on both sides of the ball. That’s been the story for way too long. Until the Steelers stop accepting “just making the playoffs” as some kind of accomplishment, this is all we’re gonna get — sneak in, get exposed, get blown out, repeat.Comment

oh, the tomlin fanboys are still here. they are just pretending that they never liked him more than the team. How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?Comment

I assume you are talking about me, perhaps? Nobody is hiding. You don't show up for a month and you claim people are hiding before 24 hours have passed since the loss? I have said before, there are no "Tomlin fans". Steeler fans root for the Steeler coach to win as there is no Steeler success apart from its current coach's success. You only rejoice in losses because you despise the coach. Whenever Tomlin comes back as a opposing coach I will root against him. I will root for whoever the new Steeler coach is. Why? Because that is what Steeler fans do.sigpic
In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than CowherComment
