All dis money and the record remains the same

the roster flips, the elders and vets.. and 6 points in a must win game. The more things change.. smh. If we fail to make the playoffs Tomlin needs to go immediately. If we make the playoffs and lose.. he needs to go immediately.

I got you but I've been thinking. I had a crazy thought last night. In that Browns game there were blatant bad penalties called against us. I even checked out and went and did some work and listened to the game. On the game day thread I said the NFL wants the Ravens Steelers game to be big time. I know I'm a conspiracy guy do I said in the 1st half we've lost this game. I had a thought last night. We've got the draft in the Burgh in April. The NFL can't have a bunch of drunk.Yinzers chanting "Fire Tomlin". Are you getting where I'm going. We will beat the Ravens not because of ability but because the NFL want a good show in the Burgh in April.

Doesn't really matter. Even if by chance your right and we beat the Ravens, we will lose immediatly in round one of the playoffs like we always do. Tomlin isn't going anywhere. He's two years left on his contract and unless a team trades for him, he'll be here for another two years. And that would be two more years of nothingness.

Not buying the W to protect Tomlin and the draft next year. I think if there is a conspiracy for us to win its to get AR in the playoffs. But after what I saw on Sunday I have no idea what will unfold vs the Rats.

The standard is now the substandard.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

You are correct, but ARII is working up a contract extension for him

The constant is Tomlin. He has to go.

Ghost is correct. The only common thread over the last 15 years is Tomlin. He’s a good coach, even slightly above average - but his HOF career is an illusion and is the product of a front office that prides longevity. In any other franchise, he would have been fired a decade ago.

Why would Tomlin have been fired after the 2015 season.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

The counter argument you'll get, and I'm not saying it's necessarily correct- is that if you are going to fire Tomlin, you need to know you're replacing him with someone better. There isn't a lot of NFL ready coaches that I would consider a sure-thing bet to do better than Tomlin. So the Steelers are kind of stuck in limbo- certainly not wanting to step backwards, but with no obvious step forward available either. There was a time I thought Mike Munchak would have been the obvious choice if Tomlin moved on & I think the team could have accepted that as a 'good' risk. But he's been out of the building a while now. Now? I'd almost consider Ken Whisenhunt or Mike Vrabel as options. I'm not suggesting Tomlin is unsackable or even that he doesn't need to be moved on- just that it feels like AR2 doesn't want to accept moving backwards- which probably makes it difficult to pull the trigger given the consistency of Tomlin over the years.
The people that are trying to make the world worse never take a day off, why should I?

                      Light up the darkness.

There are young coaches out there and we will scoop one up when we move on from Tomlin. We aren’t hiring some well known name from the past or stealing another team’s head coach. It will be another Cowher/Tomlin type coach that we all say “who?” when he is named as a candidate.

Chadman, we've all heard that argument(and I know you're not making it) and I think it's garbage. Of course you'd like to move on to someone better, but making the move is simply acknowledging that you don't believe in the future with Tomlin and it's time to search for the next path. The same way that you move on from Kenny Pickett, not because you believed that Russell Wilson was the future but you accept that Pickett definitely was not. I'd love to see the team select a HC who will immediately lead this team to SB victory, but you make the move because you believe the current situation will not lead you there.

yeah, the whole “then who will you hire?” is a weak argument. Who did we hire after Noll? Who did we hire after Cowher? You simply hire from the large sea of coaches available. It will probably never be a well known name with a resume of SB’s as a head coach. Its going to be a young guy who the Rooney’s can mold into what they believe will be another HOFer head coach who stays for 15 to 20 years.

Ravens axed Harbaugh, not living in their fears regarding the selection of their next HC.
