    Are the Steelers panicking already?

Two weeks in and the “historic” defense is in tatters, they’ve signed a run-stopping ILB off of a practice squad, they’re talking about Cole Holcomb playing more for Wilson, Peppers playing more at safety, and it appears they’re trying to rush back Derrick Harmon from his knee injury. Really was hoping he’d get until after the bye week to fully heal. If he aggravates it and misses more time there should be hell to pay.

This also signals that they don’t believe their vanilla schemes are the problem, but rather the personnel they were so giddy about just a few weeks ago, which of course will eventually lead to multiple blowouts by well-coached teams with similar or better talent.

Payton Wilson is a big problem vs the run. Peppers was picked up because Elliot is out. Wete they suppose to sign another safety bad vs run? Lastly i don't see the Steelers rushing players back from injury. If they Did Porter would be playing today & we wouldn't have had half the defense out vs Ravens last year when it was for the division title.

Ekuale should get more snaps. Or is that panicking?

Wilson is also a problem against the pass. He's been sucked out of position too often with PA. He's not playing good football right now. Thornhill has been well below the line. Hence, enter Peppers.
They're trying to make changes but the guys that were supposed to be lead-offs are failing badly.

          Agree with this.

I also think that the injuries to the secondary (especially Porter) really change what we can do on D.

I think the entire point of the Minkah trade was to have 3 good to very good CBs to give the pass rush time to get home.

Losing Porter (I think he's the best of the three even though I know many won't) is a big deal IMO.

I haven't been able to watch the last two games but from what I've seen heard and read, a lot of the expectations from the new and young defenders is not being met. New players in the secondary like Thornhill, Ramsey and Slay. Younger players like Benton and Wilson. Injured players like Harmon and JPJ.

There's still hope that the leaders like Watt and Heyward continue to play like last week and the others start to come around, but hope is not a strategy.

Our inside linebackers are never going to look great vs the pass, they are used in a bad 3-4 scheme to make up for Watt pass rushing every play. I'm use to that, every defense has to give up something. Our has alweays been the middle of the field. But at least stop the run.

This game could be very frustrating. Jefferson, Addison, Thelien & TJ Hockensen ?? We better hope we get to Wentz & he plays sucky like he usually does.

Addison is back? Hope he isn’t in game shape.

He's been practicing on his own last 2 weeks at the Vikings facility. Today first official practice with the team, but he was there all preseason. I'd expect him to be ready.
